Sympathy For The Devil, especially if performed by Laibach not Rolling Stones.

Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)
Artist: Cobra Starship

[Samuel L. Jackson:]
"That's it!
I have had it with these motherfocking snakes
on this motherfocking plane!"

Times are strange
We got a free upgrade for
snakes on a plane.
Fock 'em, I don't care.
Bought the cheap champagne,
we're going down in flames, hey.

Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.

So kiss me goodbye.
Honey, I'm gonna make it out alive.
So kiss me goodbye.
I can see the venom in their eyes.
Goodbye.

It's time to fly,
to make the skies align
with the serpentine
lounging in their suits and ties.
Watch the horse parade
for the price of fame, hey.

Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.

So kiss me goodbye.
Honey I'm gonna make it out alive
So kiss me goodbye.
I can see the venom in their eyes
So kiss me goodbye.
Honey, I'm gonna make it out alive
So kiss me goodbye.
I can see the venom in their eyes
Goodbye.

Ladies and gentlemen
These snakes are slitherin'
with dollar signs in they eyes
with tongues so reptilian
This industry's venomous
with cold-blooded sentiment
No need for nervousness
It's just a little turbulence.

So kiss me goodbye.
Honey I'm make it out alive
So kiss me goodbye.
I can see the venom in their eyes

So kiss me goodbye.
Honey, I'm gonna make it out alive
So kiss me goodbye.
I can see the venom in their eyes
Goodbye.

Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.
Oh, I'm ready for it
Come on, bring it.

We seem to be losing altitude
at an alarming pace
From Midtown to downtown
Snakes on a blog
I suggest you grab your ankles
and kiss your ass goodbye.
Was a long and dark December
When the banks became cathedrals
And the fog
Became God

Over a year and my second post.

This seems to set the tone...

Linkin Park

Shadow of the Day

I close both locks below the window.
I close both blinds and turn away.
Sometimes solutions aren't so simple.
Sometimes goodbye's the only way.

And the sun will set for you,
The sun will set for you.
And the shadow of the day,
Will embrace the world in grey,
And the sun will set for you.

Pink cards and flowers on your window,
Your friends all plead for you to stay.
Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple.
Sometimes goodbye's the only way.

And the sun will set for you,
The sun will set for you.
And the shadow of the day,
Will embrace the world in grey,
And the sun will set for you.

And the shadow of the day,
Will embrace the world in grey,
And the sun will set for you.

And the shadow of the day,
Will embrace the world in grey,
And the sun will set for you.

Heart Attack
Low Vs. Diamond

All you pretty people stand there
Let them do your nails
Doing nothing, singing something
Never seems to fail

But our guards are down, defenceless
And our walls have crashed
So my heart is beating faster
Than a heart attack

Kiss the way we were goodbye
Goodbye and farewell
First we live but then we die,
Goodbye, goodbye...

So they whisper secrets to you
That I know you hear
All the thoughts that rush inside you,
Never seemed so clear

You should write a book about it
You should start a war
You should tear your eyes out of you
As they look for more

Kiss the way we were goodbye
Goodbye and farewell
First we live but then we die,
We die, oh, ooh...

Pretty people standing by
We pain, we pretend
And we try and act surprised
As we watch the world end...

But our guards are down, defenceless
And our walls have crashed
So my heart is beating faster
Than a heart attack...
Heart attack...(x3)

Kiss the way we were goodbye
Goodbye and farewell
First we live but then we die,
We die, oh, ooh...

Pretty people standing by
We pain, we pretend
And we try and act surprised
As we watch the world end

Kiss the way we were goodbye,
Goodbye, goodbye...(x3)
Kiss the way we were goodbye,
As we watch the world die...

I see alot of people in this state of mind soon.

Carolina Liar
I'm Not Over lyrics

What a waste of time, the thought crossed my mind
But I never missed a beat
Can't explain the who or what I was
Trying to believe
What would you do?
What would you do?
Do you know?
I once had a grip on everything
It feels better to let go

I'm not over
I'm not over you just yet
Cannot hide it
You're not that easy to forget
I'm not over

Never took the chance, could've jump the fence
I was scared of my own two feet
Couldn't cross the line, it was black and white
No contrast to be seen
What would you do?
What would you do?
Do you know?
Was it all a joke, never had control
I'm not better on my own

I'm not over
I'm not over you just yet
Cannot hide it
You're not that easy to forget
I'm not over

What a waste of time
The thought crossed my mind
Can't explain this thing, or what I mean
I'm trying to let go

I'm not over
I'm not over you just yet
Cannot hide it
You're not that easy to forget
I'm not over
I'm not over you just yet
Cannot hide it
You're not that easy to forget
I'm not over
I'm not over
Was a long and dark December
When the banks became cathedrals
And the fog
Became God

To counter the negative songs, something a little more positive that's been in my playlist of late, it's a true Aussie classic.

Darryl Braithwaite

One Summer Lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-D0HuZCF_PE

Started ou-out last night, I was thinkin' of days gone by-y
Of the times I've had, And the things that I've left behi-ind
Some change, some die, Still we manage to survi-ive
It's knowin' when and what to do-oo, It's up to you-ou
Don't know what's goin' on, I can't wait 'til

One summer, I'll find a way-hay-ay-ay
One summer, will always remai-ai-ai-ain
One summer, remember the way-ay

Hauled down, turned around, Find myself facin' the wa-a-all
I think back to school, it's all the same, slightly different ru-u-ules
Ou-outside on your own, Watch yourself 'cause you're all alo-one
I know what's going on, I can't wait 'til

One summer, I'll find a way-ay-ay-ay
One summer, will always remai-hai-ai-ain
One summer, remember the way-hay-ay-ay
One summer, never the sa-ha-a-ame

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I think back not far, Drivin' down the beach in my car-ar-ar
Another pla-ace same time, Icky runs along a fine li-ine
Down there, no chance, He's trapped in a different roma-a-ance
He's life a fait accompli, He never di-id see-ee-ee

One summer, I'll find a way-hay-ay-ay
One summer, will always remai-hai-ai-ain
One summer, remember the way-hay-ay-ay
One summer, never the sa-ha-a-ame

One summer, I'll find a way-hay-ay-ay
One summer, will always remai-hai-ai-ain
One summer, remember the way-hay-ay-ay
One summer, I'll find a way-hay-ay-ay
One summer, will always remai-hai-ai-ain (fade)

Also ties in well with climate change IMHO

Estranged is one of my favorite songs; great guitar solos.

lol, I've never "read" that verses as related to peak oil... but it fits nicely

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('hironegro', 'G')UNS' N' ROSES LYRICS

"Estranged"
(...)

When I find out all the reasons
Maybe I'll find another way
Find another day
With all the changing seasons of my life
Maybe I'll get it right next time
An now that you've been broken down
Got your head out of the clouds
You're back down on the ground
And you don't talk so loud
An you don't walk so proud
Any more, and what for

Well I jumped into the river
Too many times to make it home
I'm out here on my own, an drifting all alone
If it doesn't show give it time
To read between the lines
'Cause I see the storm getting closer
And the waves they get so high
Seems everything We've ever known's here
Why must it drift away and die

I'll never find anyone to replace you
Guess I'll have to make it thru, this time- Oh this time
Without you

I knew the storm was getting closer
And all my friends said I was high
But everything we've ever known's here
I never wanted it to die

Love Is Noise
The Verve

Will those feet in modern times
Walk on soles that are made in China?
Feel the bright prosaic malls
And the corridors that go on and on and on

I was blind - couldn't see
We are one incomplete
I was blind - in the city
Waiting for light wind to be saved
Cause love is noise and love is pain
Love is these blues that I'm singing again
Love is noise and love is pain
Love is these blues that I'm singing again, again

Will those feet in modern times
Understand this world's affliction
Recognise the righteous anger
Understand this world's addiction?

I was blind - couldn't see
What was here in me
I was blind - insecure
I felt like the road was way too long, yeah
Cause love is noise and love is pain
Love is these blues that I'm singing again
Love is noise and love is pain
Love is these blues that I'm singing again
Love is noise, love is pain
Love is these blues that I'm feeling again
Love is noise, love is pain
Love is these blues that I'm singing again, again, again, again, again, again

Cause love is noise, love is pain
Love is these blues that you're feeling again
Love is noise, love is pain
Love is these blues that I'm singing again, again, again

Will those feet in modern times
Walk on soles made in China?
Will those feet in modern times
See the bright prosaic malls?
Will those feet in modern times
Recognise the heavy burden
Will those feet in modern times
Pardon me for my sins
Love is noise
Come on
Was a long and dark December
When the banks became cathedrals
And the fog
Became God

Eh...I can think of a bunch of songs that relate to peak oil, but I guess the main one for me would be -

Further, by VNV Nation

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')t the end of days, at the end of time
When the Sun burns out will any of this matter?
Who will be there to remember who we were?
Who will be there to know that any of this had meaning for us?

And in retrospect I'll say we've done no wrong
Who are we to judge what's right and what has purpose for us?
With designs upon ourselves to do no wrong
Running wild unaware of what might come of us

The Sun was born, so it shall die
So only shadows comfort me
I know in darkness I will find you giving up inside like me
Each day shall end as it begins
And though you're far away from me
I know in darkness I will find you giving up inside like me

Without a thought I will see everything eternal
Forget that once we were just dust from heavens far
As we were forged we shall return, perhaps some day
I will remember you and wonder who we were

The Sun was born, so it shall die
So only shadows comfort me
I know in darkness I will find you giving up inside like me
Each day shall end as it begins
And though you're far away from me
I know in darkness I will find you giving up inside like me

I think's it more about the sun burning out but hey, it can be related to the world as we know it coming to an end.[smilie=5shocking.gif]

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned them yet but mine are:

TOOL-The Pot
Who are you to wave your finger?
You must have been out your head.
Eye hole deep in muddy waters.
You practically raised the dead.

Rob the grave to snow the cradle.
Then burn the evidence down.
Soapbox house of cards and glass,
So don't be tossing your stones around.

You must have been high.
You must have been high.
You must have been.

Foot in mouth and head up ass, so
Whatcha talkin' 'bout?
Difficult to dance round this one
'til you pull it out, boy!

You must have been so high.
You must have been so high.

Steal, borrow, refer, save
your shady inference.
Kangaroo done hung the jury
with the innocent.

Now you're weeping shades of cozened indigo
Got lemon juice up in your...EYE!

When you pissed all over my black kettle
You must have been HIGH, HIGH
You must have been HIGH, HIGH

[ Find more Lyrics at www.mp3lyrics.org/iuw ]
Who are you to wave your finger?
So full of it.
Eyeballs deep in muddy waters
Fuckin' hypocrite.

Liar, lawyer, mirror, show me.
What's the difference?
Kangaroo done hung the
guilty with the innocent.

NOW!!
You're weeping shades of cozened indigo
Got lemon juice up in your eye, eye.
When you pissed all over my black kettle
You musta been

So who are you to wave your finger?
Who are you to wave your
fatty finger at me?
You must have been out your mind!

weeping shades of indigo
Trapped without a reason
weeping shades of indigo

Liar, lawyer, Mirror,
for you, what's the difference?
Kangaroo be stoned
He's guilty as the government

NOW!!
you're weeping shades of cozened indigo
Got lemon juice up in your, EYE!!
EYE!!

Now when you pissed all
over my black kettle.
You musta been HIGH, HIGH, HIGH, HIGH.
Eyeballs deep in muddy waters
eyeballs deep in muddy waters.
Ganja?
puhhhhhhlease!!
you must have been out your MIND!!!!

I've really been listening to Ray Lamontagne alot lately especially when I'm alone driving in my car. That way my wife can't talk to me and I can listen to what he's saying. One of my favorites that I envision the ending of a movie where the world ends to is "Till the sun turns Black"-

can you see the young and pretty
confident as cops
blooming laughing in the shops
till the sun turns black
can you see the old and lonely
walking through the park
pushing grocery carts
till the sun turns black
can you see the corporate man
he's winning on the telephone
his possessions are his throne
till the sun turns black
can you see him in his lounger
watching tv in the dark
waiting for the spark
till the sun turns black
ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
ooo ooh wee ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
ooo ooh wee who are --
can you see the working classes
trudging through their days
time goes slowly when you're only waiting
till the sun turns black
can you see the wise man simply
living loving quietly
every breath he takes eternity
till the sun turns black
Don't Tread on Me...
