You forgot Little Green Bag which is the tune played in Reservoir Dogs when the men in black step out of the diner and start walking across the parking lot. This maybe the best juxtapostion of audio and video in a movie--EVER.

Song: Little Green Bag Lyrics by George baker

Lookin' back on the track for a little green bag,
Got to find just the kind or I'm losin' my mind

Out of sight in the night out of sight in the day,
Lookin' back on the track gonna do it my way.

Out of sight in the night out of sight in the day,
Lookin' back on the track gonna do it my way.
Lookin' back

Lookin' for some happiness
But there is only loneliness to find
Jump to the left, turn to the right
Lookin' upstairs, lookin' behind, yeah!

Lookin' for some happiness
But there is only loneliness to find
Jump to the left, turn to the right
Lookin' upstairs, lookin' behind.

Lookin' back on the track for a little green bag,
Got to find just the kind or I'm losin' my mind

Out of sight in the night out of sight in the day,
Lookin' back on the track gonna do it my way.

Lookin' back on the track for a little little green bag,
Got to find just the kind or I'm losin' my mind,
Alright.

Lookin' for some happiness
But there is only loneliness to find
Jump to the left, turn to the right
Lookin' upstairs, lookin' behind.

Pa pa pa pa pa pa ....

Music Thought To Enhance Intelligence, Mental Health And

Postby Graeme » Fri 23 Jun 2006, 04:12:10

Music Thought To Enhance Intelligence, Mental Health And Immune System

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')nother study in the volume looks at whether music training can make individuals smarter. Scientists found more grey matter in the auditory cortex of the right hemisphere in musicians compared to nonmusicians. They feel these differences are probably not genetic, but instead due to use and practice.

Listening to classical music, particularly Mozart, has recently been thought to enhance performance on cognitive tests. Contributors to this volume take a closer look at this assertion and their findings indicate that listening to any music that is personally enjoyable has positive effects on cognition. In addition, the use of music to enhance memory is explored and research suggests that musical recitation enhances the coding of information by activating neural networks in a more united and thus more optimal fashion.

Idea for a RAP band(I hate that music)

Postby Kylon » Thu 20 Jul 2006, 10:07:28

I thoroughly detest Rap music, so I thought someone should start a parody of Rap music, such as the Colbert Report is for conservative talk show host.

The Name:

The Big C-Rapper

The Lyrics- Filled with profanity, ignorance, talks about how pimped up his car is, how much he beats his hoes, and how wealthy he is do to welfare checks, how big, yellow and gold his front teeth are, how's he's been incarncerated for mindless ignorant violence, and because of that can't get a good paying job-due to discrimination by "Tha Man".

The Image on the front of the CD

The Big C-Rapper sitting on his golden throne(not a toliet, but it is implied), with his crown, smiling in what appears to be urban ghetto clothing, with large filled in gold teeth, a joint sticking out of his mouth, while holding three welfare checks in his right hand, and a whip in his left. One of his feet would be resting on two hoes(poorly dressed, skankly dressed women) backs. The inconsistency of his behavior is intentional, as the image that's trying to be portrayed as someone who doesn't care what people think, or that he's a complete and total slob, and lacks executive functioning.

The C-Rapper would be pronounced (see-raper), but what people naturally see is "The Big Crapper". The reason for the intentional deception, is to make an easily apparent deception, which everyone can see through. The Big C-Rapper's name in a sense is trying to be all blustered up. But anyone can see and infer the "Crapper" from putting two and two together. This is essence, characterizes the Big C-Rapper, as he is someone who talks about how great he is, how tough he is, and all that stuff, but when it comes down to it, well you can make your own judgements.

Do you think it would sell?

Sadly, the masses don't do subtle. They'll eat it up like pigeons do bread crumbs and never get the joke.

Avant Garde Music

Postby PenultimateManStanding » Sat 14 Oct 2006, 15:29:53

Penderecki wrote "Threnody For The Victims Of Hiroshima". Listen to it and your flesh will crawl. The early twentieth century European musician/creators were saying that the world is on the edge. Death beckons. All hope is lost. Canaries in the coal mine. Schoenberg, Webern, no more joy, no more angels that Bach sang of. They have abandoned us. So why do they sing? Who listens? Weirdness rules as we go into the grave.

Now what should I say to my boy who loves music? I love music. I've explored every branch of it. Should I tell tell my boy who loves music that music is dead? Kids in high school are looking to the past. What the fuck is wrong with the present? The enjoyment of music is in the brain, like sex. Pleasure is cool, so what happens when it all dries up? This isn't bait for you NEO, at 52 I'm still vibrant.

I'm currently enjoying the soundtrack to Master & Commander.

La Boccherini la Musica Notturna Delle Strade Di Madrid No. 6, Op. 30

Sublime!

Yes, it rubs your nose in the abyss. My son wants to hear this. It is probably the most terrifying music that's ever been written.

the finale is almost unbearable. The artists are the ones who know. Penderecki is the artist of the era. It's too much.

Threnody is the first, then comes Marge Reyburn singing that she's available as an antidote, then comes the cool jazz of Coleman Hawkins. So sublime! After that comes nothing but Bach piano tocattas played by Glen Gould. 80 minutes. I hope I don't scare the shit out of my boy with that Threnody. I've told them all about peak oil. That's scary too.
