Re: REPORTS: INDICTMENTS COMING SOON

Unread postby Carrie » Thu 27 Oct 2005, 22:47:02

This just in: looks like Rove won't be indicted this time, but will remain "under investigation". Libby's going down, though.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')ssociates of I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, expected an indictment on Friday charging him with making false statements to the grand jury in the C.I.A. leak inquiry, lawyers in the case said Thursday.

Karl Rove, President Bush's senior adviser and deputy chief of staff, will not be charged on Friday, but will remain under investigation, people briefed officially about the case said. As a result, they said, the special counsel in the case, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, was likely to extend the term of the federal grand jury beyond its scheduled expiration on Friday.

Thank you, she does look like she's giving someone the look of death, doesn't she?

Rove isn't off the hook yet. If Fitzgerald does extend the Grand Jury tomorrow, he may eventually snag Rove too - and others.

Anne Coulter (who's even scarier-looking than Condi, BTW) happened to be on the CNN set this morning when the news broke about Rove. She said it was the worst possible outcome. If they had to throw Libby or Rove overboard, fine. Who cares about Libby, and Rove's main purpose was to run Dubya's election campaigns - which there won't be any more of. But to have the investigation drag on hurts the president. She compared it to the slow bleeding of a bull in the bullring.

God I love that woman- she would drink the last drops of blood from her mother's neck if it meant the decimation of the liberals.

And I can't wait to hear how Scotty Boy McClellan spins this. This is just an indictment folks- nothing has been proven. Business as usual- move along please.

Scotty was really under the gun to explain some of his earlier statements about Rove and anyone involved being fired. He said he'd answer them when the investigation was over. But the investigation on Rove continues! I guess that means we have to wait more...

dissinformation

Unread postby virgincrude » Wed 17 May 2006, 06:30:52

It was too good to be true, recently somebody posted the news from truthout.org that Rove was finally to be indicted. I've been waiting for it to surface in the mainstream but it seems it was fabricated ....shame

from daoureport.salon.com

"I've been watching with intense interest as Jason Leopold has written a series of stories that scoop every major news outlet in America. I've watched with intense interest as thousands of bloggers and message board users have welcomed his writing uncritically and have questioned why the traditional media have ignored his groundbreaking reporting. His latest piece is a seemingly authoritative report about Karl Rove's indictment, a report that has now apparently been refuted by Rove's spokesman in a conversation with Byron York at The Corner: "I talked with Rove defense spokesman Mark Corallo, who told me the story was completely baseless. Part of our conversation: Did Patrick Fitzgerald come to Patton Boggs for 15 hours Friday? No. Did he come to Patton Boggs for any period of time Friday? No. Did he meet anywhere else with Karl Rove's representatives? No. Did he communicate in any way with Karl Rove's representatives? No. Did he inform Rove or Rove's representatives that Rove had been indicted? No."

Looks maybe like a set up to discredit Jason Leopold, I don't know the man Karl rove but he became a representation of what is wrong with the new America:no shame whatsoever, no regard for the truth, grotesque and reckless.

http://www.opednews.com

As editor of OpEdnews, I started wondering when Jason Leopold's news that Karl Rove was indicted, which we made our main headline, did not show up in the mainstream news. He's been superbly reliable and great and bringing news ahead of others. So I wrote to him:

I’m getting emails asking why the mainstream media aren’t reporting on Rove’s indictment. And now, one of my Trusted Authors has written this article

http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne ... ctment.htm

Any word you can give me on what’s up?

Rob Kall

Jason replied,

Rob

I have now been turned into the story—again. Robert Luskin and Mark Corallo, Rove’s attorney and spokesman, are liars. Damned liars. I have five sources on this. In the news business when you want to discredit a reporter and an explosive report you call the spokesman and get him to issue a denial. My reports have gone way beyond the spokesman and the lawyer to get to the truth. I am SHOCKED that the mainstream have followed this up by simply calling a spokesman.

Best

Jason Leopold

I responded to Jason, "Can I post this on our site? Or, do you want to write something on this?"

He replied,

You can add this:

I am amazed that the blogosphere would lend credence to the statements of people who have consistently lied about Rove’s role in this case. This is a White House that denied Rove’s involvement in the leak. This is a White House that has lied and lied and lied. And yet the first question that people ask is "why would Rove’s spokesman lie?" Because they can, because they do, and because they have. This is an administration that has attacked and discredited their detractors. I am amazed that not a single reporter would actually do any real investigative work and get to the bottom of this story. Surely, their must be another intrepid reporter out there that has sources beyond a spokesman.

Thanks for this Killjoy, after reading that I'm inclined to trust Jason Leopold. I had greeted the news of Rove's indictment with much glee, it was a crushing blow to think it was a fabrication. How naive of me to accept the first denial! I think I should programme a viewing of Wag The Dog weekly, to pump up the cynicism. I'll wait until somebody asks Fitzgerald.

Rove:

Unread postby Zardoz » Sun 30 Jul 2006, 12:32:31

Damn those frickin' reporters and their endless criticism:

Rove: Reporters slam politicians to save selves

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '&')quot; It's odd to me that most of these critics are journalists and columnists," he said. "Perhaps they don't like sharing the field of play. Perhaps they want to draw attention away from the corrosive role their coverage has played focusing attention on process and not substance."

Rove told about 100 graduates trained to be political operatives that they should respect the instincts of the American voter.

"There are some in politics who hold that voters are dumb, ill informed and easily misled, that voters can be manipulated by a clever ad or a smart line," said Rove, who is credited with President Bush's victories in the 2000 and 2004 elections. "I've seen this cynicism over the years from political professionals and journalists. American people are not policy wonks, but they have great instincts and try to do the right thing."

Rove said it is "wrong to underestimate the intelligence of the American voter..."

"Substance", and not "process", Karl?

So they should concentrate on the "substance" of BushCo's policies? Are you absolutely sure you want reporters to do that?

And how in the hell can anybody underestimate the intelligence of the average American voter?

In other words, they should forget about investigative journalism and concentrate on reflecting the native instincts of the masses. We all know how reliable "instincts" are, don't we? In 2003, a poll showed that 70% of Americans still had an "instinct" that Saddam Hussein was behind 9-11. This dropped to 22% by end-2005, but those instincts sure do die hard in some people.

Isn't the reporting media compliant enough already?

The setting sounds like a graduation event for Patrick Henry University grads.

Patrick Henry is a strict fundamentalist college in northern Virginia that believes in the literal interpretation of the bible. It's goal is to graduate zealots who will work their way into the political system and influence US policy from within.

They barely were accredited due to their initial refusal to teach Darwinian evolution but somehow managed to become accredited after some kind of slimy deal with the state.

Perhaps he thinks it soon will be time for the American people to know and understand that we will have to fight, and fight brutally, for access to the remaining oil supplies.

They will also require toughening up for when the world is down to just a few million barrels per day and we then take that opportunity to place wells in ANWR, Coastal CA, OR, and Florida. It'll be the US of 1-2 mbpd, and we'll be thanking every god ever worshipped on Earth that we have it. Its going to suck watching some of our friends choose between fuel and food; either have the fuel to run a biodiesel powered tank, or have the food to feed some of your people; all the while American fighters and tanks are still being fed with real petroleum.

Karl Rove on the fundamentalist right... "The nuts"

Unread postby LaLaLand » Thu 12 Oct 2006, 14:49:34

I'm sorry that I don't have a more precise and accountable journalistic source to post, but this is some of the biggest liberal red meat I have read in months. I had to post this, it's Fing hilarious.
By the way, I know what the sign of Jesus' return will look like... I really do. It will be a nationally televised 30 second advertisement showing a flaming SOHO fag screwing a plastic Jesus doll. The ad will feature the slogan "Have safe sex" flashing across the bottom of the screen. FOX will sponsor the public service announcement. When you see this, you will truly know the end of the world is upon us.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A') White House which routinely speaks of the nation's most famous evangelical leaders behind their backs, with contempt and derision.
Kuo's bottom line: the Bush White House is playing millions of American Christians for suckers.
Kuo says, 'National Christian leaders received hugs and smiles in person and then were dismissed behind their backs and described as 'ridiculous,' 'out of control,' and just plain 'goofy.' "

This is hilarious.....however it is a relief that Bush may not actually believe all the rightwing Christian claptrap. Maybe he is just suckering them along and taking advantage of their ignorance to round up a few million votes.
Actually, this raises my estimation of the White House team a few points. But that's not saying much.
