The point is the Leftwing Lamestream Media and their shills are just as guilty or more so than the right side of the political spectrum for throwing gasoline on the fire. Probably more so as they have the undivided support of all of the main media in the country.. For every Palin quote, there are just as many from the left. Just because the left would dearly love to cut off the debate, and free speech with Fascist Attempts like regulating radio etc. Another proposals from the Obama camp as well as Clinton back in the day will not happen. The young man who committed this heinous crime was a Leftwing Liberal Loon and a Doper, probably what pushed him over the edge. Trying to tie him to The Tea Party which is basically a Tax Protest Movement is an act of desperation from the Leftwing Loons. Who see the end of their Milch Cow Looming and the end of The Welfare State if The Tea Party is successful. The Leftwing Mouthpieces think they have found a wedge issue to drive between the Republicans and the Tea Party in Congress. And that is what this is really about. As to cherry picking, I fail to see how posting the young Leftwing Liberal Wacko's own words is Cherry Picking. The fact is the Leftwing Loons have been drinking their own bathwater so long and have had it their own way for so long they think their bathwater is now imported holy water.

Repeating the same thing over and over doesnt make it true. Nobody with half a brain actually believes that the gun toting, ayn rand reading, racist, democrat shooting hillbilly is a liberal.

Been cruising around the interwebs the last couple of days taking in differing opinions on this story.

Summary: The left blames Ron Paul and Sarah Palin. The right says the guy was reading Marx, and Obama's comments (bringing a gun to a knife fight or somesuch) are to blame. The anti-drug folks are blaming the guy's actions on weed.

I have yet to see anybody (i'll make the big leap here) blame the sick son of a bitch that did it. The rest of us are exposed to the same stimuli as him... IE we can read what we want, we can listen to different political views (left and right), we can smoke weed or drink if we want. Yet we're not all out shooting congress members.

That dude is a crazy son of a bitch. The blame lies with him, not the stimuli. What's next, someone points out that he drives a Ford truck or a Honda Civic, and that is why he did it? Diet Coke? McDonalds?

Shows where we're at as a country: no one can possibly be responsibile for their own behavior. It has to be some external stimulus that caused the behavior.

Not buying it.

Fair enough. No one that possesses the power of deductive reasoning believes a guy who idealizes Marx is a conservative. So, what we have here is a tragedy perpetrated by a nut job, and no one on the left or right has to claim this idiot.

To show the Left's contributions to the fire, and who The good Democratic Sherriff should challenge is his own leader Obama. A list of recent Obama violence inciting quotes some as recent as the November elections. Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight”
Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”

@ roy: You give too much credit to the individual. Most people are just blind sheep that follow a path set before them by the stimuli theyre exposed to by society. This guy was taught to be a violent racist by the people in his community, not by himself. Therefore, identifying ideologies that produce this kind of extremism is worthwhile. Allowing destructive ideology to spread will only increase the number of crazed individuals that behave in this way.

Good point question mark. Now when are you going to take your own advice and demand that the Democrats muzzle their Leader Obama.

Whats your point? This isnt about catchphrases used by politicians during campaigns but about the core beliefs held by libertarian tea party types.

When leftist groups and individuals start arming themselves and act as terrorists on our own soil and against American citizens. The biggest and most active domestic terrorist groups are all right wing, not left.

Questionmark. More Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Groups. You are sounding a lot like another Leftwing Liberal Wacko who has been in the news a lot lately. Get out the tinfoil, they are shooting electricity into your head again.

DeMolay, don't you think you have used leftwing liberal whacko too many times? That makes like 20 times you have used that phrase. Isn't there another set of words that they use on your media you could use? It's getting a little old at this point. How about Commie pinko or something?

1. You know nothing about my ideological beliefs, trying to label me as a liberal because i´m willing to admit that right wing extremism is a problem in this country is dishonest.

2. What conspiracy? Nearly every active domestic terrorist group, as defined by the FBI & homeland security, is a right wing extremist group. You dont see liberals shooting at republicans because they dont support welfare or flying planes into the IRS buildings. Just about all of the terrorist activity in the United States can be attributed to conservative extremists.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Sixstrings', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SeaGypsy', 'I') am living in one of the most politicly violent places in the world. Last local elections there were 28 murders of candidates and campaigners. Last federal/ provincial run up well over 100 were killed along with 32 journalists in a political convoy at Migandanao. The murderers were army and police in that case, acting on the personal bequest of a local tyrant.
Anyong thinking this is in any way a good thing is nuts. The real result of murdering politicians is thuggery becomes the normal way of doing politics. There is plenty enough of that without bodies lying in the street.

Hm.. that's the kind of thing I was getting at with the "dangers being an expat" thread I started. I think there are just some ways of life in other countries I personally couldn't adjust to.. politicians routinely taken out, judges, journalists, no rule of law.. that's all really bad stuff.

This kind of stuff doen't scare me personally; I am in a very provincial area, easy to get along but...

My wife is quite clever and well connected. She began a career in politics as a local councillor in her teens. It is more than a little frustrating that my wife and I are nuetered politicly here by not being prepared to go hard core gangster. It's shit really. Doesn't hurt me, but holds me back a lot.

I think Right Wing Nutjobs know what's coming, this nut will make a ton of Anti-Government statements when he gets the chance, and the righty's are just trying to deflect now, cause they know a PR $hitstorm is coming there way.

http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.c ... ?ref=fpblg

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '&')quot;I don't know might have caused him to change, but from the way he was talking to me [online]... you can see. It was just questions and questions and random, weird questions that didn't go together," she said. "He would just trip out," she told ABC News. Shan described him as being 'anti-government' but said she never heard him talk about guns or violence.

Fox News reported on a law enforcement memo which states that there is "no direct connection" between Loughner and the extremist American Renaissance group. But, the memo states, "strong suspicion is being directed at AmRen / American Renaissance. Suspect is possibly linked to this group. (through videos posted on his MySpace and YouTube account.). The group's ideology is anti-government, anti-immigration, anti-ZOG (Zionist Occupational Government), anti-Semitic."

"At this early stage, I think Loughner is probably best described as a mentally ill or unstable person who was influenced by the rhetoric and demonizing propaganda around him," Potok writes. "Ideology may not explain why he allegedly killed, but it could help explain how he selected his target."

Demaloy, safe face and admit you were wrong, this guy is not even close to a leftist. This guy was inspired by all the far right nutjobs out there, a crazy person, who heard crazy things, and acted out crazily.
