$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('MattSavinar', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('JPL', 'H')mmm, interesting thread....
Throughout Matt's ramblings across the internet I have seen a consistant theme which is basically an attempt to scare people.
Well this worked for a while. Also he went full-on for a 'Peak Oil' theme which also worked, for a while.
As these little stories run out of steam there was basically nothing left in the bag. He had nothing to offer people, there was no 'politics' behind Matt that was capable of convincing people that there was anything good about the future, other than to indulge us further in his own paranoia.
But now there are no more heads left to fuck-up. So I say good riddence.
Good-bye Matt (grin).

Site traffic at LATOC is higher than ever. Based on page views of both the parent site and the LATOC forum combined, it is the most popular PO site on the net. I'm not saying that to brag - although I'm sure many will interpret it that way - but to refute your implied assertion that readership is declining.
Quite frankly, you sound like you may be suffering from "angry beta syndrome." The primary symptom of which is anger and resentment towards anybody who is actually doing something productive and worthwhile with themselves.
I could be wrong of course. It could be chromosome damage or genetic defects you're dealing with. Either way, best of luck to you dealing with these challenges.
I have spent 20 years in the Green movement and you, bud, need to spend time out & read some books.
A lot of people like me have put in a great deal of time, energy & enthusiasm into the idea that we can build a more equitable, sustainable society. Climate change, peak oil, were things that would be a vehicle for social change. We never used these issues to frighten people - just a gentle way to guide them into a better way of living.
You have attempted to take our arguements and twist them to your own purposes. So I bet you have never planted a tree and watched it grow (I am willing to be proved wrong in this) I bet you have never read Charlotte's Web to your 6 year-old daughter and secretly cried with her in the sad bits, in fact I bet you don't care at all about the future, or your children's future, except that small part of it that involves being proved right on your web-site.
With regard to chromosome damage - laugh - as most people here know, I'm an Aspie (and proud of it!). What's YOUR problem mate???
