Two other things I would like to see in Border Patrol ad:

1) A Planet of the Apes type sequence of border patrol officers on horseback descending on a herd of Mexicans and netting them before they cross the border.

2) Mr. Chaps, on horseback of course lassoing a Mexican donning a sombrero, pancho and thick black mustacahe.

Did you notice at the end of the comercial the whole team is assembled like the Superfriends complete with waging dog.

It's good to see that directors Remy Harlin and Jerry Brukheimer have found work.

This commercial is SO surreal... the first time my wife and I saw it, we couldn't believe it was real!

Oh, and what about the Navy's commercials: "Accelerate your life" -- now THAT is truth in advertising.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PrairieMule', 'H')as anyone noticed recruiting commercials for the US Customs and Border Patrol in their area? In the last few weeks I have seen these ads showing stuntmen and stuntwomen chasing badguys on horses, atvs and suvs. Looked just like ad for the Army, never seen a tv ad for such a thing. I assume its for the southern border. SBC, do you have cactuses and sand dunes up north?

not a one. but the army reserves and the national guard have been hitting up the high schoolers hard lately, and the air force base nearby has been running night practices a lot lately. but we ain't not no border to patrol up here!

This is very strange. I have never seen the USBP advertise. Things must be really bad in that agency.

Several years ago I considered joining the Border Patrol. I began reading the online forums where the wives and officers discuss "the life".

Blyech! I did not want to join the Border Patrol anymore.

President Bush's new budget proposes new funding for another Illegal Alien Amnesty and less funding than promised for Border Enforcement. He's lying through his teeth every time he speaks about solving the immigration crisis.

I saw one of these, and couldn't believe my eyes. I thought it was an ad for a new TV show at first. Reminded me of The A Team.

I have heard that's becoming a much tougher job. Because of the walls, patrols, etc., it's become a lot harder to cross the border, and people are becoming desperate. They are now willing to kill border patrol agents in order to get into this country. People who live near the border are terrified; they don't even dare go outside their houses at night.

I was just out last night in my yard gazing at the lights of Mexico(2miles as the crow flies). I am more scared of the BP agents getting over zealous, and not knowing the lay of the land than I am from the illegals.

If the US legalized MJ there would be less cartel issues.

It's widely believed that around 1 million illegal crossings into the US occur annually. Interestingly this could be slowed to a trickle with the proper utilization of resources. Just about everyone is in agreement on this. But the US government only pretends to patrol the border making this undocumented inflow of around a million people per year the official policy of the US government.

The Border Patrol is a dangerous job, but the brave men and women doing this dangerous duty aren't there to stop the flow of illegal crossings. They're only working to make it appear the US government wants to stop the flow of illegal crossings. Ask any one of them. The Border Patrol servs only as a speed-bump.

This fact was the saddest thing I saw on the Border Patrol forums.

Many officers did not realize this fact until after they started working for the Border Patrol.

Tired of the open border? Help the government build a wall!

Unread postby Specop_007 » Fri 14 Apr 2006, 09:35:05

The issue of illegal immigration, and the underlying issue of the open borders, is a sensitive one. I wont hide where I stand on the issue, but I also wont attempt to change others opinions.
You either disagree with it or you agree with it.

For those of you who are like myself and are completely disgusted with the governments border policy it may be time that we help the government secure the borders.

How you say?

By sending them a brick. Thats right, we'll send them the bricks they need to build the wall.

Click

We're working on getting media coverage on the event, and it sounds like the White House could be ending up with quite a pile of bricks as it stands now.

Hopefully they'll figure out what to do with all those bricks.

Let's get this ball rolling first.

Where do you stand?

I think I know, as most of us here do, but...

where do you stand on really poor people coming across your borders to have a better life, or to try and feed their relatives at home?

poor people who will do the jobs whites, or those lazy blacks, won't do?

or are those people something else; more dark, or sinsiter?

or do they reproduce too much?

or are they lazy too?

Do tell!

PS my 'blacks' comment was completely in the spirit of getting to the 'truth' of Specop's opinions. No offence meant-except to specop, of course.

Drew I don't think you understand the situation on the border, race is really not the big issue as everyone thinks it is. It's about the drain on civil and social services down here. I can tell you that I was born in Texas and lived most of my life here so I'll share with you my life perspective. Whites and Tejanos for the most part get along well. Problem is with all the hispanics, yankees and you canucks coming down here to our hot economy we just dont have enough seats for everyone on the bus. It's bankrupting our hospitals and schools that are supported with my tax dollar. I you want to come to Texas, no problem! Get in line, learn our language, make a honest attempt to intergrate in our culture. Until then, get in line-preferably behind a brick wall.

Spec-I got brick, where do I put it?

I think you're pissing into the wind on this issue. American industries and agriculture like cheap illegal labour. Do you want to continue enjoying Californian strawberries - amongst many other things - at their current price? I bet most Americans do.

The American Congress is the best democracy money can buy. Until American citizens who are worried about illegal aliens can outbid American industry and agriculture in the purchase of Congressmen, I dont see how the situation can change.

Forgive me if I've got it wrong, but that does seem to be how the system works from my vantage point on the other side of the Atlantic.

I supoprt them fully and wish them the best of luck!!
If they do it LEGALLY!!

I dont care if we start letting green aliens with purple arms and 3 heads in, so long as we do it LEGALLY.

This is only a race issue insofar as theres really only 1 race creating the problem.

What I detest and despise is ILLEGAL aliens. They are breaking the laws, they are undermining our society and they are a risk to our security, health and well being as a whole.

Given Drew's comments up above, I think we should encourage all the illegal immigrants (or at least a proportional share) to keep heading north. That way Canada can show us here in the states how Canada would deal with 20 million illegal immigrants.

Say goodbye to national health care.

Yes and no.
We (The People) CAN make a difference but we need a loud unified voice. One case was when the AWB was passed under Clinton. Come the next election cycle we voted out something like 50 Democrats.

That speaks volumes.

Otherwise....Well.....Your pretty much right.
