"food security will be one of the greatest problems we'll face in the coming years "

food security is a buzz word , the real word is food affordability

not a problem for you directly ,
when food price increase by a third
if one spend 10% of their income on food , it's a news headline and a trading oportunity
if one spend 25% of their income on food , it's a costly inconvenience
if one spend 50% of their income on food it's a bloody disaster
if one spend 80% of their income on food , it's a life and death issue
climate change has little to do with it ,
grain production records keep being beaten and it is never enough
there is evermore mouths to feed ,
a couple of real bad harvests would be statistically normal and create political panic
in the poor countries

the wheat price is up again , the world harvest is not too flash
either too dry or too cold or too wet ,the usual plaint of the farmer
not as bad as 2008 but bad enough , end of year stocks have been dented badly

I believe you're arguing semantics, food security is about the cost of scarce food. But you illustrated the point.
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.
