It's been posted before, but if there is a more powerful performance of a great song than this, I'd like to see it.

Everybody Knows

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'E')verybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
Thats how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

Now, something new. My friends and I are all waiting for this Scottish band to show at our local venues

Ah, the good old days when no one worried about a grim future. Well, maybe a few folks were building bomb shelters, but what the heck, halcyon days by and large.

Girl

the background chorus is amusing, went right over the heads of the censors: tit tit tit tit tit tit tit tit tit tit. . .

This Boy Pure nostalgia this one. BTW, if you're astute at reading body language, note Paul's face. Very shifty. Then when John is about to deliver the real emotional dynamics of the song Paul gives him a very knowing grin. I know Sir Paul McCartney is held in high regard in Britain, but I think he is a scumbag.

If Dirk Diggler sang, he would look a lot like Cliff Richard.

I knew a Mexican cook who had a very forceful personality. Claimed he had an American girlfriend within a week of coming to the US even though he spoke no English. Boasted to me how he f ucked the putanas real slow. Nickname "Diablo." I saw a girl hired quit on her first day when she got whiff of this nasty Lothario. You get tested by people like this. I got tested for ten years. A Chaldean girl hated him, but years after she left she came back because she was horny and knew where she could get some. This guy was a goat. I'm glad I endured his crazy persona for many reasons. He told me things that he probably told no one else. The dark side and problems, etc. He's basically a hated man. As the song goes, "No one knows what its like to be the bad man, to be the sad man, behind two eyes." Anyway, it turned out one day that he couldn't stand this song by the Beatles. He's afraid to go to sleep at night. This song was a challenge he didn't want. Anyway, it took me awhile to get the drift of this character. Eventually I held my own and got a good counter position to smile from. Anyway, this song was probably the high point of Ringo's drumming career. That percussion was incredible.

That's a great song! And, I would probably take Revolver as my favorite Beatles album.

Try to sleep after this one.

A Lou Reed fan in college tried to get me to listen to the whole album.

BTW, your little Mexican cook vignette sounds like it would make a good movie seed. Maybe get Quentin Tarantino to direct. Who would play you ?

I could write a novel about that guy. A classic case of malignant narcissism. Or maybe not, its hard to say. He had this well developed way of antagonizing everybody in a charming manner. Weird. He spoke once of the little worms that pop out of the meatballs to say 'hello!' Totally creepy. So six months later I'm showing a new hire the ropes and introduce Diablo to him. I said here's the cook, he likes to put little worms in the meatballs. Caught him by surprise, showed him the mirror. Drove around in a pink VW bug. Described an old stripper turned waitress in the following manner: didn't say a word, just pretended to throw a tittie over his shoulder and kick it like a soccer ball. Did it in her presence and mine to let me know something. Really, that guy could make you laugh. The owner of the restaurant esteemed him highly and let him drink all he wanted on the job. A couple of six packs of beer every night - Coors Light. Then a half a pint of whiskey and you could hardly tell that he had drunk anything at all. Called it his 'medicine.' Naturally, if you had the misfortune to work with him in the morning, which I did every Saturday, he was surly and mean. A real drag. BTW, there were some strange rumors going around of cocaine dealing and the bar next door. A couple of the Chaldean guys got popped and went to jail for cocaine dealing. The owner was Chaldean and the ones who went to jail were relatives of his. As for a movie, dino, if Telly Savalas was still around, he would be perfect to play Diablo. As for who could play me, I guess Richard Thomas would do.

There were many Brazilian girls who came through the place. One was kind of coarse and she came on to me by sticking her butt out at me and grinning as I walked by. Not my type but I did sit in her car with her once just to talk. I wanted to know what she thought of San Diego. She said it was boring and the guys only talked about music and drugs. Diablo f ucked her of course. After which he avoided her. She seemed puzzled by it. No puzzle at all. That's the way he is. There was another Brazilian girl who was much nicer. I did date her. Then there was another Brazilian girl who was a lesbian but married an American marine to get citizenship.

I'm the sensitive type. I believe in love. Why else would I put up Richard Thomas to play me in the movie? That girl was not my type, as I said. She left San Diego and went to Spain. When I sat in her car with her she lamented that every night she drank. There was pain in her voice. I've got a face that people tell me these things. I drink every night, but it doesn't pain me. It may kill me, but it doesn't pain me.

Try the long version of this great old hit.
Kiss You All Over

Lead singer with all the HAIR is Jimmy Stokely, who died of some liver problem in 1985. Kept the hair til the end is my understanding. Do like his really DEEP voice though.
