So I watched the movie, or I tried to. It was a tedious affair about a weirdo going crazy. Seems that in real life, Chapman was pissed that Lennon would sing about "Imagine no possessions" and "I don't believe in Jesus" while owning yachts and country estates. He had The Catcher In The Rye with him when he put those hollow tipped slugs in Lennon. The book is a protest against 'phonies'. Lennon was obviously an egregious hypocrite, but that's not the point. He was an artist. The really good ones are always amoral. Plato told us that. You can dig it, but best not take it serious.

I've read the opinion that it's because that's how women find their challenge, to compete for men's attention. Seems accurate. I've been caught in the spell of musicians before.

I've gotten to know a couple of real Lotharios in my life. Real lady killer seducers.
