$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('nobodypanic', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('hope_full', 'I') spent a not-insignificant amount of time today, calling and emailing the Senators (Webb and Warner) and posting things on internet boards and blogs and begging people to contact their senators.
I think this is pretty damn sneaky to try it in the house and then move it into the senate. TBS (toilet bowl scum) is a good description.
How *dare* they add $700 billion of debt to my taxes. I'm outraged beyond all words. I'm just too disgusted to even express my outrage. Un-frickin'-believable.
As to the FDIC limits, I agree that 99.5% of Americans have less than $100,000 cash in the bank. If these idiot senators really think that Americans care that the FDIC limits were raised, then they really are completely out of touch with the world.
I think this is a dark day for America. We've been sold into serfdom. We're bearing witness to one of the greatest wealth distribution schemes in the history of the world. They've robbed from the poor (and middle class) to give to the wealthy.
Shameful. Just shameful.
what are you worried about? you'll never pay for much of this at all; heck, you might never pay one red cent. it's impossible to collect taxes from the homeless, unemployed, and the indigent, and in a few months, that's what most of us will be anyway.

Indeed. Once the ramifications of peak oil engage at full throttle, this little "crisis" that we're experiencing currently will seem like a beachside picnic. $700 Billion will seem like a pimple on a fat ass cheek.
Our legislators haven't a clue, and for us to expect otherwise would be pure folly.
