$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'u')nless you are critically ill from some other source, 7 days without food is going to do you no harm at all. If you go on a total fast, it takes an average of 60 days to starve.
I did a four-day water-only fast and it wasn't that big a deal. The big deal was when I started eating again and that wasn't pleasant. I was surprised that the hunger pangs weren't any worse than they were, but I also did some mental exercises to keep the hunger at bay.
I have also fasted and consumed only fruit juice for a couple days and that wasn't bad at all. My point is, we humans are designed to go long periods of time between eating. That's why we're all so darn chubby now.
As to the 2/2/2 rule, I don't buy that either (two minutes - air, two days - water and two weeks - food). My auntie died a fairly peaceful death after she lost the ability to eat or drink. Nine days after she lost all muscle control (and the ability to swallow), she passed on. The 87-year-old woman lasted for *nine days* without a drop of moisture passing her lips. Hospice workers told us that it was "on the longish side" but not that uncommon.
I think humans are a lot tougher than we may realize.
