My fave colors (in unison with each other) but it's distracting (especially when users don't have avatars).
Let people be experts and even edit their own user titles (within reason) but the stripe is annoying. Just my 2 pence. Peace. :)

Agreed. If anything, the stripe should be a rainbow, representing the full spectrum of colors and diversity shown on this forum.
There’s a strange irony related to this subject [oil and gas extraction] that the better you do the job at exploiting this oil and gas, the sooner it is gone.

Definitely. Excellent idea Narz.

Within reason means we could apply for a cute word or phrase and if it meets with the managers approval it would be allowed. In fact they've already kindly allowed this for a few of us.

I nominate WisJim for Expert status. He lives a sustainable life probably more so than anyone here and I find his posts informative and accurate.

He also avoids the "shit storms" that take place here. He's an all around good guy and I wish I had neighbours like him.

Kylon is an expert on alternative energy and technology. He keeps starting provocative new discussions on different ways to generate power in the post PO world.

And, best of all, Kylon's got a way-cool name that sounds like he's really a time traveler or a sophisticated but friendly alien from a more advanced interstellar civilization.

I'm an 18 year old kid with a bad haircut and I sleep in race car bed. Weigh me as you please.

Although, I'm quitting school, getting 2 jobs and building an Earth Shelter roughly 1 hour outside of Winnipeg. I don't know if this is any qualification.

Expert to me implies specialization. A specialist. It would be helpful to know what the people are experts in. Someone could be an expert hair stylist but I wouldn't want them performing heart surgery.

That's why I'm still very uneasy about the title. It's not qualified by "peak oil". It means something in the context of this forum, but other than that, nothing, and that's not made clear. The only member of this forum with an official qualification in peak oil is Starvid.

Sometimes I think I should put a disclaimer into my signature - warning: utility guy who can read a receipt and retain the information longer than ten seconds. That's all it boils down to. I didn't ask for the title. I don't know, make it Forum Expert or qualify it some other way for the sake of visitors.
