Patriot act II was DOA. It did not make it out of committee. Several elected officials heard from their constituents(sp?) that it was not good legislation. So, what happened. Several sections have been ripped out nearly verbatum and attached to other legislation. The most blatenty unconstitutional part, regarding actions that imply a abrogation of citizenship are not (yet) in law. Watch all pending legislation, it could be attached as a rider. I read somewhere about a bill authorizing enemy combatants (maybe even those who show by their actions to have renounced their citizenship) to be transferred to countries that allow torture (I'm not talking about standing naked with a bag over your head)
All our elected officials seem to have sold us out. I didn't vote for any incumbants, so writing them a letter threatening not to vote for them in to to six years makes little sense. There seem to be many who are satisfied with the status quo.
SO what to do?
A national strike?
A gas free week? (not fair, I can use biodiesel)
continue wringing our hands?
This is where everybody puts profound words written by another...or not so profound words written by themselves

Well, S.2845 passed. :( When will people get some balls and stand up for their rights. 89-2 or something like that; it wasn't even close.

I think the real test will come when PATRIOT II is up for ratification.

This is ground work for what I predicted in my book, Madmen at the Helm:

I haven't really looked into to this, but a book reference friend of mine sent me these links:

U.S. CONCENTRATION CAMPS
FEMA AND THE REX 84 PROGRAM

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')here over 600 prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but they are all empty.

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/pages/camps.html

AMERICAN CONCENTRATION CAMPS

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')tty. Gen. John Ashcroft's announced desire for camps for U.S. citizens he
deems to be "enemy combatants" has moved him from merely being a political
embarrassment to being a constitutional menace.

Ashcroft's plan, disclosed last week but little publicized, would allow him
to order the indefinite incarceration of U.S. citizens and summarily strip
them of their constitutional rights and access to the courts by declaring
them enemy combatants.

The proposed camp plan should trigger immediate congressional hearings and
reconsideration of Ashcroft's fitness for this important office. Whereas
Al Qaeda is a threat to the lives of our citizens, Ashcroft has become
clear and present threat to our liberties.

Camps

How many Hells do we have to die out of before we quit the game of self-terrification? Either we have a wicked Archetype to obey or an incredibly nasty gene commanding our psyche.

Wrong dream even if it is the right day.

"What fools these mortals be!" More than a Puckish utterance, this has a dictated-unto-the-land-of-the-living quality to it, as if we're obsequiously living up to a standard of someone else’s making.

On the other hand, maybe the nightmare of a 6 continent Auschwitz is exactly the penance we all need to be relieved of our collective ignorance and hatred.

Pam and I have talked at length: American Holocaust
I can't quite tell if we have the power to manifest this destiny; but if so, being physical at certain coordinates may not be optimal.

House Votes To Curb Patriot Act

House Votes To Curb Patriot Act

House Votes To Curb Patriot Act
FBI's Power to Seize Library Records Would Be Halted

By Mike Allen
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, June 16, 2005; Page A01

The House handed President Bush the first defeat in his effort to preserve the broad powers of the USA Patriot Act, voting yesterday to curtail the FBI's ability to seize library and bookstore records for terrorism investigations.

Bush has threatened to veto any measure that weakens those powers. The surprise 238 to 187 rebuke to the White House was produced when a handful of conservative Republicans, worried about government intrusion, joined with Democrats who are concerned about personal privacy.

I truely hope they have the balls to do it.

To use words such as "Patriot" or "Homland" in these various schemes always gave me the feeling that those guys think that the people can be fooled forever.

Looks like maybe the Downing Street Memo will destroy this Illusion. I HOPE it does. :)

The only reason there has been a break in the ranks is that they have seen the latest poll numbers and it is clear the Republicans are going to get smoked in the mid-term elections...

The American people have had enough.

Not really. Only about 30 house seats are competitive (out of 435). Of those seats, they are currently held about 15 REP and 15 DEM. So even if the Democrats would sweep all 15 of the Republican seats, they would still be short of a majority in the House.

In the Senate, I believe the Democrats have more seats to defend in 2006. 18 Democrat seats versus 15 Replication seats up for election. Same situation. The Republicans have more targets to go after than the Democrats and the Republicans start with a 5 seat advantage.

The earliest we could see a serious change in power would be 2008. The earliest we could see redistricting, which puts more house seat in competition, is 2012.

Patriot Act: The American Republic is Dying

Postby directinfo » Mon 25 Jul 2005, 06:15:17

Image
Hi All,
The death of the American Republic is here. If a doctor were standing over America right now the prognosis would be something like: "Any last words?" The passing of the US took place about the time of the passing of the the misnamed Patriot Act legislation.
We are witnessing right now a milestone to be remembered for generations on the right side of the peak oil curve as we collapse into the "Long Emergency" (Jim Kunstler's term) and into a depression that "never really ends" (Richard Heinberg's term. It is no coincidence that such destruction of liberty happens in parallel with Peak Oil. My comments after the article...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')b]House OKs bill making Patriot Act permanent
Toni Locy. USA TODAY, July 22, 2005:
WASHINGTON - The House passed a bill Thursday night that would make permanent several controversial provisions of the USA Patriot Act, a sweeping anti-terrorism and anti-crime law that Congress passed in the weeks after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The House, which approved the measure 257-171, began debate shortly after the Senate Judiciary Committee approved its own version of the bill.

Both bills would make permanent 14 of 16 Patriot Act provisions set to expire Dec. 31. Both would also extend "sunsets," or expiration dates, for two other provisions - one dealing with wiretaps and the other with seizures of library and medical records.

Unlike the House bill, the Senate committee wants more proof of a suspect's terrorism connections before federal agents could obtain personal information. The committee also wants to eliminate a gag order provision that prohibits any business from speaking about an FBI request for information.

Once the Senate passes its version of the bill, a committee will be formed with the House to work out the differences between the two versions. Passed in October 2001, the USA Patriot Act is a cornerstone of the Bush administration's war on terrorism, and the president has insisted that Congress make permanent all of the act's provisions. The act contains hundreds of changes to existing laws that federal investigators had sought for years dealing with terrorism, espionage and general crime.

Republicans and Democrats offered nearly 20 amendments to the House bill that would place more restrictions on federal agents' surveillance powers. One of the approved amendments would require the FBI director to personally sign off on agents' requests to a secret court order for library or bookstore records.

Comments: Clearly, the Patriot Act is legislation directed at the general population. That means you and I. Yes, you are the "terrorist" under the strict interpretation of the broadened definition of this term and therefore you can basically be secretly executed for no reason legally.

Watch closely: Section 802:
`(5) the term `domestic terrorism' means activities that--
`(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of
the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;
`(B) appear to be intended--
`(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
`(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or
coercion; or
`(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction,
assassination, or kidnapping; and
`(C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the
United States.'.

Download the entire Patriot Act here:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/countit.asp?fid=23091&fileidx=1
Or do a word search. Americans must learn to start reading what their elite have planned for them real soon.

So, question one, about speeding: "Are you involved in an act dangerous to human life and in violation of a state law? Speeding is a state law. Yes.
Question 2, in clause 5Bi: Do you APPEAR to intimidate a civilian population? Yes, speeding APPEARS to intimidate a civilian population. All of 5B is settled because these are "or" clauses.
Question : Did you speed within the US? Yes.
Yes, a speeder has qualified under the new broadened legislation for terrorist in America. You, speeder, are a terrorist.

The government now has the right to secretly detain you without a court order, hold you indefinitely, put you through a closed court and secretly execute you. Go here for analysis and then download the actual Patriot Act document to verify for yourself. http://www.infowars.com/print/patriot_act/alexs_analysis.htm

Welcome to gulag America. And if you think that these words are accidental. Sorry. Germans in 1930 also said the same thing. People even excused the German government because they wanted to be strong against the "commies". Well, great, but their leader made concentration camps and it wasn't just for Jews. It was for enemies or simply economic targets that somebody in power didn’t like. And there were mistakes. People just found themselves marching into a cattle wagon for no reason. Maybe someone wanted their house.

Yes, history repeats.
1)Burn the Reichstagg (pentagon + twin towers)
2)Invade poland (Iraq)
3)Implement the Enabling Act (Patriot Act)
4)Try for World Domination (Project for a New AMERICAN Century)
5)Set up concentration camps (FEMA camps)

Hey, it is a national emergency. Gotta evacuate this town. Go to the camp. Gotta work to pull your fair share of the load. You don't support the terrorists do you? Guys, this is so obvious.
If anyone wants to know what to do about it, this is what:
1) learn more
2) take action
3) teach
4) learn some more

Specifically, regarding 2) take action:
a) You might want to get into gold and silver
b) You might want to sell your on-grid concrete soon-to-be-worthless home
c) You might want to rent while the real estate bubble collapses
d) You might want to get into gold and silver physical to avoid the fiat currency collapse
e) You might want to stock up on 2-3 months of food and hold 2 months of cash on hand
f) Be defensive economically - minimize expenses
g) Be defensive geographically - relocate yourself out of the line of fire to come streaming out
of the mega cities
h) Be defensive in your career - revocate into a community that is producing organic food with export potential, ideally nearby a railroad station and might conceivably feed a city power of 100 thousand or 500 thousand, not much more than that.
g) You might want to get back with your extended family
h) become a solid contributor to the community and family'
i) You might want to get solid with God's truth as recorded in the Bible. It really is a good thing to manifest the works of the Holy Spirit. Unlike what most people are saying about Christians these days, George Bush is not exhibiting the fruits of the Holy Spirit. If he were, we wouldn't be on the highway to PNAC Hell.

Galatians 5:22-23 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

Can't accuse wrong doing against a person who manifests those things right? Would such a person "pre-emptively" bomb civilians? Clearly, "born again" is a term used by Skull and Bonesman, satanic cult member GWB for political gain with his non-thinking Christian Right supporters. Better start discerning some of those spirits out there my brothers and sisters.

Hint: "Left-Right" is a false paradigm. That is a division of the base to benefit the top of the Hegelian Dialectical pyramid. The real paradigm is elite vs a serf class. The top wants us fighting against each other at the base and forgetting about who is printing the money, selling the arms, consolidating power. It is really simple and world events make sense only from this paradigm.

But that is another story and we are too late to fix the titanic. Time to get the liferaft in good shape. In the end, it doesn't matter how long you live, but how you live matters. Get your family back and get yourself focused on what really matters. Good luck
