The problem with this article is that it's true, up until he decides that we should just bury our heads in the sand. Oil is a marvellous thing. It can't be replaced. Just because it's so wonderful doesn't mean it isn't running out. Wishing doesn't make it so. I think people can read between the lines and realize that this guy has no clue as to what's coming down the pike.

This opinion piece on Fox is very similar to the opinion piece in the NY Times opposing peak oil last year----it even directly quotes the NY Times piece.

Whining about Fox news rather misses the point------the reality is that ALL the mainstream media and essentially all mainstream politicians in the US, including our feckless president, are ignoring peak oil while doing everything they can to prop up BAU.

Some people posting here clearly don't understand what an "opinion" piece is.

Opinion pieces aren't the official editorial view of the New York Times or Fox----they are the opinions of the people or organisations authoring the piece. Thats why the New York Times sometimes publishes opinion pieces by conservatives and Fox News sometimes publishes opinion pieces by liberals.

Thats why this whole topic is silly-----the anti-peak oil opinion piece in Fox news in 2011 and the anti-peak oil opinion piece in the New York Times in 2010 both represent a BAU viewpoint that clearly isn't the exclusive purview of Fox News...the BAU viewpoint dominates both the left and on the right ----in fact it is best exemplified now by the policies of the Obama administration which are directed toward BAU rather then toward moving the US towards transformative new policies that are needed for the post-peak world.
