I think Fox is like the worst place you ever worked, except that it has extended the rottenness to the whole audience.

Think of the worst place you ever worked. Pretty much everything sucked, everyone knew it sucked, everyone lied and got away with whatever they could. And everyone had to toe the line that it was the absolute most wonderful family like conscientious honest work environment on God's green earth. In reality, everyone knew it was basically a big contest to see who could make up the most outrageous rumors and lies, and that you left you morals at the door.

The worst thing anyone could do was tell the truth about anything, no matter how trivial. The second worst thing was to accomplish anything or find any degree of happiness. Plan to see your kid this weekend? ooops the boss needs you to scrub out some huge vats.

This is also the model that reportedly took hold in the Soviet Union - just a low level grinding nastiness focused on accomplishing nothing. That's Fox.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Asterisk', 'F')or anyone who says that Fox and MSNBC are simply 2 sides of a coin, can you please point to a single lie that Rachel Maddow OR Olbermann have ever told that has not been corrected?
Answer: you cannot. ...
That is not my opinion.....that is fact.

+1...Well stated and I 100% agree.

Sure, no problem.

There is an entire website devoting to tracking and debunking all of Olbermann's lies. Here it is website tracking Olbermann's lies

cheers!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('vtsnowedin', '
')The proper role of a journalist is to report the news not to create it or influence it. Once that pro Obama position was taken any hope of objectivity was out the window and the value of his reporting reduced to very near zero.

I disagree. The simple truth is that because Fox spreads so much bullshit, it is prudent for MSNBC to offset that with FACT based opinion. That is why the majority of the prime time MSNBC shows deal with "debunking" what the right wing media has been broadcasting.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('vtsnowedin', '
')China holds a very large chunk of USA treasury bills that may soon be worthless. kind of a bitter milkshake don't you think?

I agree and that is exactly my point. While the Republican party filibusters nearly everything that the Democrats do, and while the Repbulican party screams about deficit reduction while touting tax breaks for cajillionaires ( disproven as an economic stimulus by many economists and rich folks in the USA, while proven to increase the debt by billions ) China moves forward buying more US debt, moving forward with green energy initiatives etc. It is a very bitter milkshake and I'm afraid that those people that would defend them are really selling themselves short.

America has to get over itself and realize that it is not so exceptional anymore. They are quickly becoming the laughing stock of the whole world. Only people like yourselves can do that and the first step is to stop making excuses for the huge propoganda channel that is Fox Spews. :cry:

I took a quick look, and it seems to be a website devoted to spinning everything he says instead of catching him lying.

Oh, and BTW, I'm not defending MSNBC, and they do spin stuff their way.

Yep, text search shows only "lie" concerns some he-said-she-said about some POS piece of tape from Fox. Hard to believe anyone wastes their time creating content for that, I'd be curious about what other bs projects they have.

And in the waning days of 2010 do you have any examples of journalists that fit that criteria? I certainly don't.

Nope , in fact no one living comes to mind as even close more days then not. Perhaps Edward R. Mauro but that is probably just my perception from the movie image.
The failure of human beings to reach an ideal does not negate the wisdom of the ideal.
In the meantime watching Fox and MSNBC on alternate days does give one a sense of balance. Watching them carry on about each other is rather amusing.

This study only shows the dilution component because SO MANY PEOPLE ARE WATCHING FOX NEWS. The liberal media outlets are loosing numbers like mad. So a ginned up study like this makes the simple minded (see above posts) think they are superior if they watch any other media. What does the data show? Pew Charitable Trust, a liberal media watchdog, showed a HUGE Obama bias during the 2008 election, with Fox being literally the fairest and balanced media outlet.

Preston, I can always count on you to provide the fools view. "They are just starting to get a hint about the GOP's ideologically driven blitzkrieg destruction of America that is just starting to gather steam."

Um, O just rang up several trillion dollars of debt, he just lost a devastating election, the adults will now have to come in and clean up his mess, and only a unicorn believing, skittle dreaming fool would call it "ideologically driven blitzkrieg destruction of America". I knew Obama would lead to your worst dreams, said it two years ago. ROTFLMAO

I think this study is flawed because these people may have been stupid to begin with, so Fox news just kept them that way. Correlation does not imply causality. I think it's probably true that Fox news could make you stupid, but they need a double blind study to prove it. They need to take some smart people and turn them stupid to really prove it.

Ah yes, Fox News viewers are bunch of gap-toothed, hillbilly rednecks who didn't even finish middle school. If that makes you sleep better at night....

Here in north Texas, that's exactly what it is. Across the river in Oklahoma, they watch Fox as they diddle their first cousins. Not surprising they elected Sen Inhofe. That has got to be the stupidest man I have ever seen in a position of power, and there have been some real duzzies in Washington.

I wouldn't be surprised if we found that Michelle Bachmann was Inhofe's first cousin.
