Re: Karl Rove to be arrested?

From CNN.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'R')ove's lawyer cited a letter from the Justice Department saying Rove is "constitutionally immune from compelled congressional testimony." He said Rove is willing to submit to an "informal interview" or to answer written questions about the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, whose ouster Rove is accused of orchestrating.

WANTED: Karl Rove
CHARGE: Being totally and completely evil

Actually, the charge is giving up State secrets to a journalist, notably, the identity of a CIA agent on field assignment in the clandestine service. Last time I checked, that was a felony.

Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor who spent three years investigating the Valerie Plame case came to a different conclusion, but when did the facts ever matter in politics anyway......

The bottom line is Rove is evil evil evil.... :)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ferretlover', 'A')rrested AND convicted? We couldn't be that lucky.

I agree. Not like it matters at this point in time. Mr. Bush will pardon a convicted Rove before his term expires.

If you can buy into the fantasy that Rove is convicted, surely you can also fantasize that Bush doesn't pardon him, and Rove spends the rest of his evil days breaking rocks in chains while wearing a striped suit. Why ruin a good Rove conviction fantasy with a totally unneccessary Bush pardon fantasy? :)

Surely the dems in the Senate aren't get to let Rove off the hook that easily. Can't they hire a famous bounty hunter to go get him?

Anti-war protester tries to handcuff Karl Rove

Unread postby Ferretlover » Wed 22 Oct 2008, 12:14:08

Former Bush administration aide is accosted at San Francisco meeting
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'S')AN FRANCISCO - An anti-war protester confronted former Bush administration aide Karl Rove while he spoke at a San Francisco mortgage bankers' meeting.
A statement by the group Code Pink identified the woman as 58-year-old Janine Boneparth, who tried to handcuff Rove in what she called a citizen's arrest for "treason."
Rove, who was speaking Tuesday at the Mortgage Bankers Association's annual convention, elbowed Boneparth away as she was escorted off the stage. ...

No wonder the war goes on and on....this generation's antiwar protestors are too stupid to know who actually voted for the war. Rove had nothing to do with the war---he's a political advisor and he isn't even in the government anymore.

Someone should explain to this clueless antiwar protestor that the money for the war is under the control of Nancy Pelosi and Pelosi continues to push more funding bills for the war through the congress.

The so-called anti-war protester lives in San Francisco but is too stupid to know that Pelosi---her own congressperson---controls the money for the war and instead protests someone who had no power over the war at all and isn't even in government now....thats just pathetic.

Rove didn't press charges against the loon. Too bad.

Obama, not Bush, now seeking delay of Rove deposition

Unread postby mintdollar » Wed 18 Feb 2009, 00:51:58

Obama, not Bush, now seeking delay of Rove deposition
Former Bush Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove has a new president urging Congress not to force him to testify next week.

In a court brief quietly filed Monday, Michael Hertz, Obama’s acting assistant attorney general, said it was necessary to delay an effort to force Rove to be deposed in a congressional investigation into the firing of nine US Attorneys and the alleged political prosecution of a former Alabama governor.

President Barack Obama’s campaign theme should have been, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”

The personality-driven media has juxtaposed Mr. Obama’s pledge to clean the nation’s Augean Stables of rich lobbyists and insiders who profited on special access to the corridors of power; and, his appointments or nominations of delinquent taxpayers to his Cabinet (with jurisdiction over the Internal Revenue Service), and appointment of a mega-lobbyist for a defense contractor as deputy secretary of defense.

But Mr. Obama’s more alarming betrayal concerns the imperial powers of his office, which he inherited from the Bush-Cheney duumvirate. He has either embraced or acquiesced in every one of their usurpations or abuses (some perpetrated with congressional collaboration).

Not a problem for me, I just wish the search function was back and better than ever. Do you think they are trying to keep us from finding stuff from the past ? He who controls the past, and all...

I actually saw the post and thought it was yours with the name 'mintdollar' being close enough to 'mattduke' early in the morning before coffee to play tricks on my mind.

edit: DOH! I just found the search on the main bar. I'm a doofus
