From what I can tell, Fox reporters didn't actually write the story.

They seem to have picked it up from a News Service, LiveScience.

What probably happened is that an editor for Fox thought the story was interesting, and picked it up. Probably this isn't the result of a conscious policy decision from on high. (But who knows for sure?)

In contrast, UPI and Washington Times have been running energy stories, mostly from the angle of national security - "we need to cut our dependence on foreign oil".

I love this channel, the terrorism threat on the ticker tape just seems to get higher everyday. The rhetoric becomes ever more absurd, yet I have to keep tuning in.
