Back in the late 90s, a couple of journalists working for a Florida Fox affiliate filmed a report about BGH (Bovine Growth Hormone) in milk. Monsanto (the producer of BGH) put pressure on them not to run the story. One thing led to another and the reporters, who refused to bow to Monsanto's pressure, were fired. They filed suit under the Whistleblower laws and were intially awarded over $400,000. Fox appealed the ruling and in 2003, a Florida Appeals Court ruled in Fox's favor.
