$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mmasters', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('evilgenius', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Armageddon', 'W')e are at peak or just past peak now. Also, when the world's economy collapses in the next 12 months, demand will be 40-50% lower and we won't ever see $200.00 imo. People have no idea the magnitude of the financial crises we are facing.

I have the same feeling.

Me three.
I guess this is the part where I say me four but I'd rather not. I prefer to make observations by looking at things through the rear view mirror rather than make future predictions.

Can oil hit $300? maybe yes/maybe not. There's a part of me that says 300 seems like such a nice round and even number! However even if oil never hits the $300 mark I still think the world can blow up. There are many no-name countries in the world that are so close to the edge all it would take is a "gentle push" to bring them rolling down the hill.

If demand falls that much, I actually think the price of oil would rise even faster - because all countries around the world would be inflating like crazy.

As I recently posted on another thread, the Fed/Treasury resorted to hyperinflation in the midst of the 1930s depression - with wholesale prices rising about 80% in about a year or so (granted that was from low levels) even while demand was very weak and far below peak.

This time, with a network of supercomputers, inflation will come at hyperspeed.

It will go to $400+ for Americans. Other nations will be paying with currency that has value.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

I don't disagree. It could very easily happen that way.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('vision-master', 'H')e's being conservative with his projections.

exactly - he's projecting a 8% annual growth rate...meanwhile in the last 8 years alone we have seen a cumulative annual growth rate of 19%.

So he's saying that once we have supply disruptions the rate of increase will slow by over half?

Yeah, if the dollar keeps losing ground. But then do you call it a peak oil crisis or just a hyperinflationary crisis. Not to split hairs, but it's worth a thought.

Interesting video. The grey-haired gentleman predicts $300 barrel by 2020 and $12=15 per gallon for gas. Not hard to believe. I live in the UK and yesterday I paid $9.80 per gallon.

I can tell you that the price rises haven’t stopped people driving here; we have more vehicles than ever and keep building more roads in our little country. It is true that in Europe we generally drive more fuel efficient vehicles and the average distances are shorter but I think gas prices would have to double before serious numbers moved on to public transport. Electric cars are not popular.

If anything I suspect that Americans would be even less elastic in their response to high gas prices. My impression is that driving is seen as part of the American dream, plus your towns and cities are more spread out (perhaps because they were often developed after the rise of the automobile). Also you don’t have a dense network of public transport – so the alternatives to driving are less attractive than in Europe.

(I love America by the way; how will I visit when the oil runs out - row perhaps?!).

Hey Scott, I used to read ROE2 and Alas Babylon daily in the old days. I'm sorry I missed your post (of two years ago). From monitoring several "peak" sites over the years I came to the conclusion that they can become a bit insular with not much cross pollination. However, recently I think people are beginning to realize that we are family in a village of the awake. It may be as close as we will ever get to community during and after the collapse.

Interesting dynamic forming. I need to go over there and see what is going on these days. I know that Sharon Astyc has stepped forward and become a great leader from ROE2.

Stamina is the key.

We are starting to jump time lines, e.g. a threat from 2005 all from a sudden continued in 2008...

Stamina is essential to move within time, correct.

So do you think this is still all tin foil...??

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')n icy, unknown world might lurk in the distant reaches of our solar system beyond the orbit of Pluto, according to a new computer model.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Now if you spent just a little time on the crop circle thread...you could learn where Planet X is and what the earth is experiencing because of its gravitational pull torn between both the sun and Planet X -

BTW - this is not new news...the Sumerians mapped Planet X's orbit over 5,000 years ago.

Do you believe me?

You should.

Astronomy equates to conspiracy?

Neat how astrology just absorbed all the planets invisible to the naked eye from Earth in stride. Why not track Barnard's Star while you're at it?

Believe what? That there may be a 10th planet?

I'm sorry, I guess I neglected to notice your degree in astrophysics.

It's just an hypothosis. If you are so sure it's wrong, disprove it.

Maybe Nibiru was the cause of the last Great Flood. Every religious faith around the world has tales of this, so yes I think it's possible. Rumor has it, it orbits around our Sun once every 3,600 years.

So let me get this right.....you are saying because we haven't discovered something yet that it just plain ol' doesn't exist? Wow.

I guess we should just stop all forward thinking then because if humanity hasn't come up with answers yet we never will. Sheesh.
