$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('prajeshbhat', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AgentR11', 'N')ot just my home, all homes. They are too expensive when compared with median income. Of course, there is a slight selfish interest in wanting ones' house to rise in price, as it makes a niftier number on Quicken's personal balance sheet; but it seem to me, there are structural things going on in the US market that have greater import.
Price of homes is one of the biggies.
There is no reason why a family of four shouldn't be able to live, in a home they own, with a stable, 30k/yr income. That's where we need to go with respect to house prices.
I have ZERO sympathy for the house = ATM folks. ZERO.
There's also the paying of property taxes which are based on the value of the house, which comes out of my pocket, and which I'd like to remain as small as possible.
Baby boomers bought houses with the hope that they could retire on their home equity. They were supposed to sell it to generation X. The generation X bought houses with the hope of becoming millionaires on home equity. They were supposed to sell it to generation Y. The generation Y inherited the profound wisdom of their parents and grandparents and decided they have better things to do than learning to read and write. They just wanted to sing and dance and experiment with their sexuality. For a living they could just borrow $ 5,00,000 to buy a house and then sell it for $3,000,000 when it naturally appreciates. Simple.
I am 23 years old. The baby boomers are still here. The generation X is still here. The generation Y is still here. They all believe that my generation can come up with $3,000,000 for each one of those houses so that they can continue to live in the golden age of capitalism. And this time it's not just the retarded Americans. The youth of the whole world is dragged into this mess thanks to the neo-liberal and neo-conservative free-trade globalization hacks. I weep for the fate of my generation.
Weep? Go to work and buy a foreclosure. You and my daughter should get together. She thinks
the world owes her a living too.
