Re: All electric car available on eBay right now (Sept 22nd)

I ride an eZee Torq to work and back (about 20 miles) which will double to 40 miles in the next couple of months. I can cruise about 22-25mph and get about 20-25 miles on a charge. I've heard other people get over 35 miles but they're probably riding the bike in restricted mode which is max 15.5mph (UK law).

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('ChicknLittle', 'T')his year I've moved to around 3 miles (but lots of big hills) from work... And I just ordered an electric bike (ok, im lazy) to get me to work faster and with less sweat... The bike is about 2000$ (there are cheaper available), with a 1000 Watt motor, and a great lithium polymer battery which only weighs 10 pounds and is not greatly affected by cold weather. I expect to be able to go around 14 mph even up hills with little effort, with a range of more than 15 miles without pedaling... and plan to use it even in cool weather this winter. Not cheap, but cheaper than trying to buy a hybrid car, and cheaper than feeding a horse.

This pic is close to what im getting (same frame and drive, different battery configuration). I think doing this will reduce my stress re: peak oil... and, a movie about a guy who uses an electric bike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eNdU9QQZUk

How do you deal with the weather? I live in Missouri, and while hot weather (hot/humid/muggy) is bearable it also gets very cold here : ) Im thinking some extra windproof clothes will be important. I can do without the extra speed a car has, but I will miss the protection of a windshield. Oh, and I'll miss the radio : )

Are you going to charge up at work?

I actually don't mind riding through the winter here! It doesn't get too cold, and is only usually below freezing from Jan-Mar and not every day.

The hardest part is guaging how cold it is in the morning. If I get it wrong i'll either freeze or be too hot. Usually if I step outside and start shivering, it's about right! About after 3 miles I've warmed up enough to make the rest of the journey comfortable. If your route is 3 miles you can probably dress warm straight away. Clothing-wise, I wear a merino wool base layer, Foska jacket and a rain jacket on top if needed. Bottom is usually tracksuit bottoms and rain overtrousers if needed.

I do charge up at work, luckily one charge gets me home and back again the next day.

Let the car charge itself! On the Sun n.e.v. a couple of solar panels will do it while you are waiting.

You can have a little heater to warm the inside of the Sun, and a radio is of course an easy thing to install. It will go 25 mph and you can be warm and dry. You could have a little fan to cool you too.

It's going to be the car of the energy (and money) limited future.

25 mph is going to seem fast soon. This little car is almost the same width as the original Model T, and goes about the same speed. We're going to have it in a parade next Thursday. It should be fun!

 In case you were wondering, shipping and handling on a soul is $2.95 anywhere in the US.

You just have to keep an eye on it. As for "then what", come on....you can't think of anything to do with a spare soul? I mean that hamster looks like he never committed a single sin in his life. His soul is probably completely unused. Heaven knows my souls not that clean. I could really use a spare.

seems kind of cruel to keep an innocent little hamster's soul trapped just to "have a spare". the soul should be allowed to make it's way to where ever all the rest of them are, just happily spinning in celestial cages for eternity.

Buying and keeping a hamster's soul would only degenerate the value of your own soul, then perpetuating the need to have the hamster soul.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')re you worried about Peak Oil?

What does PO have to do with buying a hamster's soul? Quick! Somebody find out how many barrels of oil a hamster's soul makes!

Satan, in seeing the approach of Peak Oil and the ensuing die-off, has realized the he is also approaching Peak Human Souls. He must now must turn to the ethanol of the soul-energy-infrastructure, hamsters. He his hoping that thousands of hamster souls on spirit wheels can keep the fires of hell blazing a while longer.

I would fear that trading souls is a mortal unforgiveable sin. You take the soul of another, so your soul shall be taken from you.

Soul trading, buying and selling should be left to demons.

The Hamster is probably still going to go to heaven. But the man who tried to sell the Hamster's soul is probably going to suffer whatever spiritual reprocussions of that there are.

Yes, your probably right, but according to the listing if you buy the soul, you automagically go to heaven. Explain that one?

The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Obviously a fraudulent deal... (yes I'm just playing along)

1. He can't own the hamsters soul because the hamster had no way of signing or agreeing to sell it to him. Since you can't just "take" a soul he doesn't own it...

2. Many theologists would argue that a hamster doesn't have a soul anyways

logic prevails!

Continuously without depletion? Must be one of those abiotic souls then..
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

OMG, that landover baptist site/religion/nutjob_factory is freaking retarded. I so hate baptists, a bunch of holy rolling morons. They are probably part of that group that goes and bashes soldiers while they are being buried, or stands on street corners and holds dead baby fetuses up for 1st graders as they are going by on the bus to school. Makes me sick, that people like that are even allowed to breathe

Might want to check that link again. Especially the "Accept Jesus and get a free Playstation 2" link.

I say if the hamster was going to hell anyway, then there's nothing wrong with me buying it's soul and using it to go to heaven. I'm gonna be sittin on a cloud sipping margaritas with the J man. The rest of y'all can kiss off.
