$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')oof. That sucks. Here at the shop I use the prices are a bit better.
It does. What you wrote above is what I would expect.

How low is Ag gonna go? Spot @ $14.95

Well.. Predictions are like armpits... You know the rest.. :)

If you would have asked a couple of months ago I would have said silver would be high 20's low 21's in March. In fact I said that back in Sept but it does not seem like it is going to happen. So with a big grain of salt..........

Low 10's. but here is the deal. I have always done dollar cost averaging so my current DCA is $13.56 for all the silver purchased in my stock. Since silver is high 14's I might start buying bigger quantities all the way down and back up. :)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Jotapay', 'I')'ve always used APMEX. They have pretty good prices and only show what is in stock.

You can sell silver on ebay or craigslist. 1 ounce silver coins are selling for around $20 on ebay.

The nice thing about APMEX is that if you have an account with them you can setup "reminders" or a setting that automatically emails you when the PM of your choice hits a certain dollar amount.

I set mine at $16 an oz for silver. So APMEX emails me when the price reaches that level, they really don't need to because I check the price multiple times a week but I think it’s a neat feature.

I like APMEX, BullionDirect, and lately I been buying bars from Monarch Precious Metals. Just like anything else it's gambling but if you have a time frame of 10+ years, IMO you’re in good shape. The day to day movements are tricky and can burn you. I only do a little bit at a time but if silver drops to $13 or below I will be buying Maple Leafs and American Eagles.

Gold is out of my price range but there are 1/10th or 1 half, rounds that I may look into if the price goes below $1000.

I'm not an economics major or have any significant knowledge of investing but as personal preference I would rather my money be in PM's in personal safes throughout my family than in a Bank.

Looks like you hoarders cleaned APMEX out of all their silver.

APMEX is having a silver sale this weekend. $0.79/ounce over spot.

I bought a bit at 13.5 x face yesterday, and then of course the price dropped to $14.85 for an ounce of silver.

I don't worry too much, since the price seems to fluctuate between $12 and $18 lately.

I'm out when it hits $18 again.

As long as the price is down I will keep buying.

This may be the last dip, though.

When the dollar carry trade unwinds, PM prices will temporarily crash. That is when you want to have your cash saved up to buy PMs. But that may be in 2 years or 10 years; it's whenever Bernanke raises rates that makes the carry trade unprofitable. It took Japan almost 20 years for their carry trade to collapse.

This dip is a good time to stock up, if you can find any PMs.

The dip may be over though.

Only time will tell.

Can anyone add some insight to a noob on how commodities (especially silver) will respond to the turmoil in Greece? I'm trying to time buying and I can't tell if Greece and the euro zone complications will drop the spot price or make it rise?

It seems deflationary to me because the dollar will strengthen making silver drop in price -at least temporarily but how long can this turmoil remain and what affect will it have on silver prices?

It seems it may be in a holding position over the next year, bouncing between $15 and $16 but I can’t tell if it's cheap or expensive....

Silver dropped to close to $10 last January. That's the lowest it has been for years.

There may not be another opportunity to buy silver this cheap, but then again silver may drop to around $12 an ounce and you'll have an even better chance.

Who can tell?

Overall the stuff seems to keep going up in value, and it's fun to collect.

I like pre 64 coins, because they have some numismatic value as well.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')wo big name hedge funds have recently set their sights on the same investment. John Paulson's firm, Paulson & Co, and George Soros' hedge fund firm, Soros Fund Management, are set to purchase shares of NovaGold Resources (NG) in separate offerings by the company.

Some big names are getting into Novagold.

I think I'm done buying silver. It seems to slide sideways lately.

I have slowed down as well. I have a good amount of cash on hand and am waiting for a dip. Oh well.

I think I'll wait it out until Silver drops below $15 and Gold below $1085. I'll use the extra cash for ammo and going to the range.

Time to go drive from Wallmart to Wallmart and see who has .40 and .45 cal range bullets in stock...

I am really out now that silver has closed over $18 for 2 days in a row. I wonder if it will hold?

I am going to buy something else now.
