I'd like to go, but what would be the point? Protests do nothing except get your ass beat by thugs in body armor.

Worldwide G20 Protests

Postby deMolay » Sun 29 Mar 2009, 12:49:10

This could prove an interesting week for the world. If the G20 can't gain traction with their much ballyhooed power. Expect a Sudden Stop event in the Global Economy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pO-MvqI-gns

Seems like the nastiest fights will actually be In the G20 meeting. Germany has already told the Brits to shove their plan, Spain agrees, and Obs plans are for naught. On the world front he is seen as he really is, inconsequencial and inexperienced.

Absolutely not over. The toxic asset plan is a scam on the taxpayers of America. They are trying to get the Banks and Financial guys to reveal how much toxic sludge they are hiding. The Derivatives Market is in the Trillions potentially most of it sludge. Obama is basically making every taxpayer in America eat the sludge. Eventually the debt will have to be paid. He will pay it by user fees and higher taxes. There are no free lunches for anybody.

The Brits have moved to put the Army on standby, something seldom done in England. In preparation for the G20. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/86981/MI5-alert-on-bank-riots

Agree completely. This ain't over yet. Its basically just another way to launder taxpayer dollars to the bankers so they can sell off their worthless derivatives. I expect they then buy real estate or bullion since they are knowingly engineering the eventual collapse of the dollar...

Obama's Debut Marred Sarkozy Threatens Boycott of G20

If Obama doesn't agree to Frances demands the French President threatens to leave an empty chair at the G20 summit. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/5084581/G20-summit-Barack-Obama-conciliatory-over-Nicolas-Sarkozys-walkout-threat.html

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')hile declining to respond directly to Mr Sarkozy, Michael Froman, a deputy national security adviser to Mr Obama, was placatory, emphasising the American president's willingness to regulate hedge funds and stating there were a "number of things in the toolbox that might be available" to clamp down on offshore tax havens.

How are hedge funds or tax havens in any way responsible for this crisis? Isn't this just Governments trying to create a straw man that may handily give them more revenue?

Oh, and don't expect Sarkozy to do much against the real culprits. He's in the pocket of the local bankers and assorted pigmen.
What we think, we become.

deMolay,
you have posted so many topics today I am beginning
to think you are a writer for Encyclopedia Obamica.
Sarkozy will settle down once he is done trashing
some Anglo-Saxons for his homeys and gets a nibble
of fromage and some vino in him.

Yes efarmer, I have been confined by weather. And I have spring fever. It is Mar 31st and I still see 2-3 feet of snow covering my garden. By the way what is an efarmer?

I agree with Sarkozy Obama has been in bed with financial industry. Look at how's treated the financial industry compared to the auto industry. He's spent hundreds of billions already and has commited to spending trillions more without the will to make any of these companies recognize their losses.

On the other hand he balks at 30-40 billion dollars for GM and Chrsyler and insists on playing hardball with the unions and the bond holders.

He seems hell bent on rewarding the financial industry for its mistakes yet insists on running GM and Chrysler through the ringer, even though they require far less support. This situation is absolutely disgusting.

Hope the weather breaks your fever deMolay, maybe you can start
some seeds inside.

An efarmer is a guy who spent decades designing electronics and
the last few years using all his wits to study lower energy living
arrangements. My latest passion is growing edible plants to
feed to insects, birds, and rodents, and then killing all the ones
that are rejected by the aforementioned diners as unsavory through
various means and accidental discoveries that are hilarious to
my wife and neighbors.

If an Obama was a garden vegetable, you would undoubtedly love me.

That sounds crazy efarmer. So crazy it may work some day. I just plant things that birds like or buy seeds that I know they like so I can watch them in the winter. For the bugs I like to attract birds that feed on bugs.

I fully intend to eat them myself when I plant them and even as I tend
them, it just doesn't work out that way deMolay. Since I am better
at feeding some spectacular bugs than I am at growing some spectacular
veggies, I am drifting to the dark side and thinking about maybe just
eating the bugs instead.

If I was Sarkozy, I would not show up until they did what I wanted
rather get there early and threaten to leave. What if the German
lady gets him in a headlock and won't let him go?

Spring is almost here deMolay, if you need a laugh, imagine me
coming out of my garden and running around the yard cussing until
I do my big finale and stomp on the sprinkling can. If you are anything like
the wife and neighbor, you will bust a gut.
