But what of those that thought they were philanthropists (as many of them were too.) and *thought* they were doing something good? What of them?
WHat if you DID have some of them, say Ms. Bettancourt, right in front of you now, she has saddened, maybe downcast eyes, never thinking she'd fall below a certain point in her life, especially this late in her life. Maybe she thinks, what will it be for my children and grandchildren, those I trained to take over, then next generation?
"What will it be like for them?"...she is just beginning to realize it now.
Ah! A Moral Question! Its what I live for
With power comes responsibility, and money is of course power. Ignorance is not an excuse in this situation, if said person only realizes the damage her wealth did now, she is guilty of stupidity at the very least.
However, there are of course gradations of Evil, as there are Circles of Hell. For some of the worst and greediest, they end up of course in the 7th Circle. Under the circumstances described so far in this case, this woman would sound to be a few circles outside that.
Come the Revolution, all must be tried for their Crimes Against Humanity. In this trial, said PigPerson has the opportunity to demonstrate how they used their wealth (and weathier they weredemands more charity of course) and whether at any time showed a genuine concern for the suffering they caused, even unwittingly. If they gave significant portions of their wealth away to help the needy, this would weigh in their favor on the Scales of Justice, but it would not absolve them of Guilt.
It would be up to the Chief Justice as to whether or not to extend Mercy to this PigPerson and determine what earthly Punishment might be meted out in that case. Obviously we are not going to support said PigPerson in Prison with food we all need to survive, so you need a series of different levels of punishment depending on the amount of wealth held in that PigPerson's hands, the amount of Charity that PigPerson demonstrated through life, and the sincerity of the Repentance for Crimes Against Humanity.
A good demonstration of the Sincerity of Repentance would be that PigPerson's willingness to devoting a period of years or the remainder of his or her life (depending on the Scale Balance) to working on their hands and knees in the fields planting and picking crops and working hard enough to provide a surplus to the community of supporting one child beyond what the PigPerson herself eats.
For some of the worst offenders of course, the sooner they are Burning in Everlasting Torment in the Fires of Hell the better, no wasting time working in the fields here. You go Bowling with their Heads immediately
In the case of those who either do not demonstrate sincere enough Repentance or who are simply physically incapable of providing hard enough work in the fields because they are too weak from a pampered life, there are a couple of possibilities. For the Unrepentant, you also Play Croquet with their Heads. For the weak in the fields, they will gradually starve to death as the portion they sow and reap gets below that which about 2 persons need to live, since the PigPerson always has to provide enough food for at least one Child of the Community before the PigPerson can eat for the duration of her Sentence.
This is the best Justice that can be meted out here on an Earthly level. As to which Circle of Hell this PigPerson ends up in, that is not the decision of the Chief Justice, it is up to a Higher Level of Authority.
See You on the Other Side
