$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('shortonoil', 'N')utrient deficiencies account for an incredible amount of the disease that occurs in our society. Even through the amount of research that has been done to support that claim is staggering in magnitude, it is generally completely ignored by "modern medicine".
Fast food is the equivalent of a dietary sahara. It is hardly any wonder that the CDC says the diabetes will be the number one killer in the US by 2020. Many of the diseases that plague our society were extremely rare only a century ago.
However, there is no "profit" in a healthy society if your business is concocting caustic compounds to alleviate symptoms!
I remember as a kid, we actually had a 'salt shaker' sitting on the kitchen table. It was standard practice to grab it and shake salt on darn near everything we ate, and apparently this was true across the land.
No more. I haven't sprinkled salt on anything in decades and other than in cooking, salt is never used in this house.
But it takes time to break these unhealthy habits. For years, as a young man, I would routinely add salt to french fries and then add even more with ketchup knowing full well how bad it was. I knew it was bad news, but did it anyhow chowing down on Big Macs and all the rest falsely thinking it wasn't going to affect me. How wrong I was.
I notice McD's stock is doing fairly well during this economic crisis. Even though everyone is well aware of the harm fast food causes, people are nevertheless flocking into these places in droves.
How do we stop this behavior? I have no idea. The profit motive is powerful. The convenience motive is powerful. I suspect that as long as these forces continue and laws allow it, there will be no end to it until .... well, until a really big economic crash occurs.
