I don't see the meaning of your comments. It's increasingly obvious that the power's been shifting to the East, as for instance the oft-forgotten failure of the Doha negotiations showed. The Old Order won't go don't quietly; the financial commentators keep on saying that it will be the continuous strong growth in China that will save the world economy of going beyond the tipping point, but as soon as the US and Europe get out of this mess, they'll want to get back to the way things were before, and Chindia won't have none of that.
Just read the news about the
rising nationalism in China, and how they've been answering to France's attitude on the Olympic Torches: Carrefour on fire!
And India? President Bush and the Congress have approved a deal with them that effectively removed all the authority of the IAEA, allowing India to
buy atomic material without signing the Comprehensive Test Ban or the Non-Proliferation Agreement - something only time will tell if it wasn't the greatest of all Bush Administration's many errors.
The people in these countries are nationalist, proud and just as loving of their homes as we are. Our companies can only go there right now to sell
Human Resources and Strategy. They have a much greater growing potential than us. They'll overtake us.
Think we'll go down quietly?
I suppose I could get into this long and winding speech about Freedom! But I would rather let the spoken words of Great Men make my point!
Do I Fear China, India or any other nation not likely, so should I fear the radicals of the world not likely!
Here is what I think! To live life under Bush's Paraniod views are far more depressing to me as a Freeman!
"There ought to be limits to freedom". ~George W. Bush
Certainly the 911 Commission had said it best!:
"Certainly the dozens of panelists who spoke about post-9/11 violations of civil rights and liberties, the rise of secrecy and the hidden costs of covert operations and consolidation of intelligence, and the rise of the neoconservative view in foreign policy and a new "Pax Americana" and permanent warfare that ignore international law or the alternatives of restoring justice and peace cannot be called "conspiracy theorists" because they question the immediate response and flawed recommendations that now guide legislation and a new security paradigm".
Then we have this to follow Fear!:
Patriot Act, is a controversial Act of Congress that U.S. President George Walker Bush signed into law on October 26, 2001.
Not much different than this:
Hitler took control in an entirely legal manner. It is worthwhile for high school students to research the Emergency Decree and Enabling Act of 1933, following the burning of the Reichstag (parliament) building intentionally set to create panic.
I prefer the very words of Benjamin Franklin!:
"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
"Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither."
"He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security."
"He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither."
"People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both."
"If we restrict liberty to attain security we will lose them both."
"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."
"He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither."
"Those who would trade in their freedom for their protection deserve neither."
"Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security."
No Sir, I fear no Evil. I fear the loss of my freedoms more than Death!
Regards
