Folks, I have a confession to make. I went and filled up my vehicle (7.8 gallons at $4.099) at the corner Chevron this morning, and rode down to Stone Mtn for a hike (26 mi round trip), just because I could.

The person across from me and the one behind me filling up (I didn't have to wait in line, believe it or not) exchanged the old "guilty" look...topping off our tanks, just because we could. But isn't that what people do in shortages, grab what they can, while they still can? You can't beat good old-fashioned human nature...LOL.
On the way back, I could see that station down the street was apparently dry, and the Chevron was down to one operating pump, with two customers draining what must surely be the last dregs of gasoline in the underground tanks.
So in just a few more hours, I suspect that all of Atlanta will be bone-dry, with no gas to be had anywhere. Supposedly, the tankers are on their way, but I just don't see how they'll be able to keep this vast metropolis of 5 million plus people supplied with gasoline, not at the rate we folks burn it...just ain't no way it can be done. Gonna be real interesting when people actually have to stop driving because they can't get gas.
Whoever thought Peak Oil could be so much fun.
