$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('biofuel13', 'T')hought I'd chime in on this one since First Nations Studies was my major area of studies back in my good old college days. While there is no market for the degree anywhere, the enrichment I gained from devoting many years of study to this area has benefited me greatly. For anyone interested in the Hopi prophecies and ways of thinking on these topics I highly recommend reading "The Hopi Survival Kit" by Thomas E. Mails. The insight you will gain from this text will benefit you in both a pre and post collapse world. Many of the prophecies have indeed been fulfilled and the end of the great cycle is nearly upon the world.
If we are serious about living in harmony with nature we need look no further than to the people who accomplished this feat for tens of thousands of years. For those who are seriously doing "preps" for a post collapse world it is important to start learning about the culture and mindset needed to survive as well as hoarding food and stocking up etc etc. Look to the elders they truly have the answers.

Thanks - I'm checking out the book.

Ordered. :cool:

And scary as heck.

I've been through natural childbirth three times, the death of a child, and holding the hand of my dearest relative as they passed.

I was scared out of my mind about each one of those life events. I'm scared of what is coming down the pike (mostly, I'm scared for my kids). Still, I have to say, I really do welcome change and hope people will turn to the truth and what is real rather than the crap everyone has been filling their lives with up to this point--to say nothing of the ugliness humanity has brought upon the world (nuclear war, waste, etc.)

Change is always scary, but change is also the only constant in the whole universe. So, I guess we all have to try to deal.

Definitely scary, but it is really refreshing to hear someone else articulate something that has been swirling around in my own mind. If nothing else, I feel a little less nuts. 8)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Jack', '
')Personally, I have zero interest in living a neolithic lifestyle;

I have mild interest in it, kind of enjoy reading about other people's adventures with primitivism, and one of my hobbies is foraging (soon hope to take up hunting as well), but I don't kid myself that I could survive that way!

Hopi Prophecy - Effects of Peak Oil (The Hopi Survival Kit)

Unread postby vision-master » Sat 21 Jun 2008, 07:52:14

The Hopi Survival Kit - Chapter 6 - Prophecies Past and Present - Page 207/ 208.

Hopi Elders Quote: $this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'L')et us take a look into the future through the eyes of our prophets. They say that along the way the industrialized world will have certain problems. Throughout the world people will be uncomfortable because of the changing times. The worldly woes people will be going through. People will have to make adjustments to fit themselves into new life styles and environments.

The industrialized nations will become careless in getting more of the resources they need out of the earth, oil, coal, etc. Believing all these things will last forever. Soon natural resources will be depleted. Fuel shortages will occur; industrial machinery will come to a standstill. The machinery used for planting, harvesting and transport will become useless. The white man (Bahanna) with all his intelligence and technology will not be able to repair the damage.

Now let us review our knowledge briefly, the centuries old prophecies which warned us what would happen when we forgot the principles of right and wrong in our behavior. We will see extraordinary events in Nature and Earth, including mankind: because modern man ignores the wisdom of ancient culture and religion. Modern man looks upon old wisdom and knowledge as dead, useless and no longer respected.

Modern man began to depend on the money system and no longer Mother Earth for food. According to prophecy when this happens Mother Earth will hide the nourishment which she provides because of the view that ancient food is poor man’s food.

When all food disappears modern man will try to correct his mistake, the conditions he caused upon the earth through his inventions. He will try to achieve some kind of method to heal the wound, but this will not be possible when we reach the point of no return. Only through peace the survival of mankind and our planet Earth is possible. Only if we, the human race, are willing to change.

Source? Date of prophecy?

If the prophesy was made in the 70-ties or now its nothing mystical... its just a fairly common sence perspective put in "native"-style wording.

Now if the prophesy was made in 1750 or so I would be more impressed.

Very true. There are many "ifs" and contingencies involved in the Hopi Prophecies. Taken in a broad view though, they are very very accurate. Amazing for information passed to them over 1,000 years ago.

In 1100 what did the Hopi know of industrialization, nation states or white men? What is the Hopi word for "industrialization"?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')list]There will be roads in the sky

There will be moving houses of iron

There will be horseless carriages

Men will have the ability to speak through cobwebs

Men will have the ability to speak through space

Men's clothing will be taken over by woman

Woman's skirts will be raised above the knee, devaluing the sacred body of the female, indicating that many things will be devalued from the original

One day strange people will appear in our midst, people who create man in their own image. Once given his language and knowledge, our own people will become the instrument by which he will rule over us and carve the rest of us into his image. Our own people will become his tools and he will make certain they do a good job.

As time goes by, for self-gain, people will struggle for power to rule

Each race will create a different system to go by, once their leadership becomes distorted by mistakes or destructive ways.

Through the inspiration and the forewarning of the Great Sprit, man could foretell events centuries in advance, and therefore know that one-day strange people would come ashore to take over the land.

I don't know. What I understand is Dan Evchema was one of the last traditional Hopi Elders alive and wanted to share his knowledge of the Hopi Prophecies before his death as he seemed to think we are in the final hour.

What's important is the message. Even if the prophecy about the industrialized world was formulated 100 years ago by the Hopi Elders, I'd say it's pretty profound. Matter of fact It's a very profound idea TODAY! The Elders are "stick" people, How can they know these things? Baffling.
