Which brings us back again to possible bank runs and all the pleasantness that would bring.

I doubt the printing presses could compensate if a general run were to happen.

Hmm, I've always thought that living in canada would give me a bit of buffer/warning with respect to financial institution meltdown....but if it happened in the US, how fast do you think it would spread up into canada? I'm thinking it might be almost simultaneous......

Silver is up nearly a buck today! What is going on? It seems to hit a little plateau, and then run up again. It's done this about 3 times today. Once to $18.40, again to $18.66 and now up to over $19. I have never seen anything like this.

At this rate it will be over $20 tomorrow afternoon!

I agree, Roccman, but I meant what is causing it today in particular? There has never been a whole dollar run up in silver. Something really bad must be happening. It started around 10 or 11 this morning, and it just kept going until just now.

You would think that people would take profits, so that would slow the rise of silver, but it just kept charging up. There must be some news story or something that caused everybody to suddenly want silver.

If I wux in europe and I had money invested in merca stcks, and I lost 1% a day I would withdraw it from the market and remove my investment and put it in european rutabagas corporation..

At least my rent isnt going up 1% a day!
and neither is my paycheck.
