I somewhat resent the "minus". It has a too strong a negative connotation---why should hitler get to be a "positive" The graph is upside down.

No one is in the top left here. Why? Those people are Fascists! You aren't going to find any Collectivist/Fascist people talking about the general decline of government power.

Why the shortage of lower right quadrant people? Libertarians have their own places to hang out online. I am one of them, but I dabble in both.

Why the shortage of top right people? Republicans and Conservatives tend to fight ideas like Peak Oil. They don't really care too much about the environment or believe that Capitalism has flaws. There are very few concepts in Peak Oil that Conservative minded people find palatable.

Why so many Democrat/Liberal types? Peak Oil has everything that these people want in it. Less government regulation of morality (no money for it PP), more concern about the environment, a general hatred of Capitalism and Free Markets, and a more holistic lifestyle for the average citizen.

(3 moose-drools later) Who plotted this graph? Someone in the psy-ops section of Bushco, is Goebbels still around, those Gandhi-hating sick-o's that made that disgusting South Park movie? The "right" are so much more successful at this sort of thing.....remember "Freedom Fries"--REHASHED WWI PROPAGANDA---and they get away with it!
Overturn the graph! Down with hitler---up with Gandhi!!!

I used to be dead middle the economic left right region but having learned about corporate psychology I have grown very anti-corporation. My country seems to be run by an ogliarchy of the bastards and they have their fingers in everything global. Its not that the people in corporations are inherently evil, the entity of the corporation seeks to maximize itself in the current system. This maximization comes by externalizing costs on the rest of us, no matter the moral dilemma involved or the harm caused. You can't blame an entity for maximizing itself in a system, so the system has to change for any of these problems to be adressed. Like some of the top peakoilers say, there is no way to stop peak oil except to change how our financial systems work. This is part and parcel in that. Of course, this would cause the corporations to lose power and they staunchly defend their place as the leaders of the world, e.g. IMF, World Bank etc.. They have become in my mind the perpetuators of our current spiral down into the abyss. Corporations as a collective will duck and weave, all the while externalizing; until irrepairable damage is done to our species.
Beware of those who would deny you access to information, for in their hearts they dream themselves your master. SMAC
