In case of anarchy I would love to be able to be put my house out when lit on fire by arsonists.

Just thought I would throw that out there!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')errazas, who said he has lived in Hesperia for 25 years, said Rund was the latest in a string of people who owned and tried to make a go of a small mini-mart on Highway 173. But it closed about five years ago, he said.

The worn building, with a "Country Store" sign in front, was boarded up with "closed" spray-painted over windows and doors. Nearby is a mobile home where Rund is believed to live.

Paul Roberts, a Hesperia resident who was at the mobile home Wednesday, expressed disbelief that his friend would be suspected of arson.

"He's a good dude, I promise you that," Roberts said. "This guy is not a fire starter."

Rund is a UPS delivery man and is a former body builder, Roberts said. He added that Rund invested his savings to buy the now-failed business and went through a divorce about the same time.

"He's been down on his luck since the store closed," Roberts said.

That guy who saved his hose looks like he's located off the 76 between Warner Springs and San Ysabel? Neat area. I'd be locating there were it not for climate change issues and water availability.

There was a huge fire when I was a kid back in the 60s. I remember that no one was evacuated and men were on every roof with hoses watering down their houses. We kids were watching the flames not 200 yards away. Huge flames, an impressive sight. Some places deal with tornadoes, some with hurricanes, some with earthquakes, but San Diego has always had to deal with fires.
