I'm not proud or ashamed to be English. My nationality is not something I think about a lot. As an accident of birth it's not very important to me, anymore than the colour of my eyes are.

I'm proud that I don't let down my friends when they need help, but nationality? so what?

I think I'm more of an internationalist. Nationalism and patriotism just don't do it for me. As far as I'm concerned they're just levers that the people in power yank on to get the mass of the population moving in the desired direction.
