"Asian investors dumped $52bn worth of US Treasury bonds alone, led by Japan ($23bn), China ($14.2bn) and Taiwan ($5bn). It is the first time since 1998 that foreigners have, on balance, sold Treasuries."

Caesar would shave the edges of gold coins toward the end of the empire as the circulated through the system.

This is no surprise...all crashed empires do this.

The debt will be monetized.

The Amero will be rolled out.

The ground will fall out from under the middle class.

It will NOT be different this time.

Got Morgans?

What's an amero go for? I think I'd like to change my retirement into Ameros now, please. Can we use them in Mexico? I think I'd like to retire there. Hablo espanol.

It wouldn't be bad, but I suspect I'll have to fight for space with all the other US citizens who had to wade the Rio Grande to sneak in.

It's hard not to spend the paycheck with everything inflating so fast. It seems like the dollar just keeps dropping, every day a little lower. What is the best thing to do? Hard to tell.

After switching most of my cash into euros and gold stocks in 2002, I recently converted all my euros back into US$. I have kept my gold, however.

Unlike stocks, which go up and down with no limit, modern currencies tend to cycle with respect to each other over 5-10 years. I think the euro is way overvalued now, and since "everybody knows" the US$ is in the toilet, the disgust is priced in and it is probably nearing the bottom of its cycle. We shall see.

Could this news have something to do with the dollar's decline?

http://www.economicsbriefing.com/2007/1 ... ut-of.html

Is there any gold left in Fort Knox? Who knows?

Hey roccman, what is that chart?

Found it.. net foreign treasury purchases. So, do you think "newbank" is active yet?

That chart is a bone crushing thud of capital flight from the dollar.

Expect $20 gas shortly.
