$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jbeckton', 'Y')ou could always move Rocman. I mean you are living on stolen land, using the internet that was subsidized by TPTB, using electricity that is produced by burning coal, and paying taxes that go to make bombs.

Why not take yourself to a nice uninhabited tropical island and start your own country.

Hurry, I want you to make it there before hurricane season ends...

In all actuality, I like the fact that someone can whine and complain about their government. I find that most people who would say no, either envision some fantasy land where everyone gets along, or they do not know their history, and what the former powers did to keep their power.

I think a good poll would ask, What power in history did the best job. (or least horrible job if you prefer)

Just like so many other flag wavers...proud of the good ol USA...best country in the world move if you disagree...and never a day served IN SERVICE of this country...smoking pot...crack...running off to college for some bullshit degree...OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

But when our alcoholic president says to stay clear of 911 conspiracies...you jump to service.

If you did not serve and you think america today is something to be proud of - you can kiss my ass.

Sorry for the delay, went out to lunch.

I served my time and paid for college on my own working fulltime at night while going to school. So save me your little guy who did the dirty work speech!

Why would I want to call you devil dog? You have already proven to me that you know nothing about science, physics, engineering, demolitions, history, or politics.

Apologies for the previous post...

At one time JB a common voice mattered in this country.

A time before TV.

Since the advent of TV Americans have been significantly dumbed down.

Today our common voice does not matter.

I disagree. TV and the internet have allowed people to express opinions and ideas like never before.

If you ever do go to college, take a course in history entitled something like 20th century American Worker. I promise you that if you look at the conditions that our ancestors worked under, and the quality of life that they had, you will see that we have come a long way.

In the 20th century you could be shot because you wanted to start a union or went on strike. If you got hurt at work, too bad. If you got killed at work, too bad. Your family would go hungry.

This country is far from perfect but that comes with the trade. Before Halliburton, there was Rockefeller and Carnegie. After Halliburton there will be something else, it’s the nature of the beast.

What he (jbeckton) said.

My point is that if today's current egalitarian society isn't good enough, you ain't seen nothing yet. Liberalism, the Great Society of free stuff from the government is funded by cheap, plentiful resources. As the party ends, you are going to see a new (old) society emerge; one where there are no safety nets to catch you when you fall, one where you are on your own and at the mercy of your family’s social/economic position.

Born to a single mother of no means?

Today: the government will help out, feed you, house you and even give you an advanced education if you are motivated enough.

Tomorrow: good luck, it sucks to be you.

I despise patriotism. Why do you think you are better than someone who lives in another country ? I believe in God, and I guarentee He hates patriotism too. Are we better than some poor starving little african boy because we were born here instead of there ? I think not. I hate patriotism as much as I hate rascism.

I think your a bit off the mark when it comes to what patriotism is Armageddon.

pa·tri·ot·ism noun : love for or devotion to one's country

I doubt very much there are many folks who consider themselves patriots who think they are "better" than someone else because they don't live here. I have never felt that way at all.

People who bask in the luxury that has resulted from the war waging but complain about it, really sicken me!

Don't be mad at the flag raisers, be mad a nature for creating man.

I think you fall into the category of people who really believe that we could all get along if it weren't for corrupt leaders. As history shows, that model doesn't exist.

I was very proud to be an American. I served my country for over 6 years. Lately I am troubled by what the people we never elected are doing, but I believe in the ideals of the USA.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jbeckton', ' ')..be mad a nature for creating man.
Betcha read that in the bible?

Sorry, not my favorite fairytale.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')ut if you are mad at nature that would mean you are angry at the fella or force that created it, that would be the loosely defined 'God'.

I'm not mad, I understand that I live in a violent world and that my particular "group" must let nature take its course and hoard resources while suppressing rival "groups". I don't have to like it but, I don't have to be naive enough to think that it ever was, or ever will be different. Like we are one good leader away from peace on earth....BS
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')ersonally in my 'hierarchy' of who or what I am ...Before I am a Canadian ... I am first and foremost a human being ... there are no borders or flags that can take that fact away from me.
Though there are nefarious forces at work in the world today that may wish to impose or project their identity 'crisis' onto me.
Any idea who I am talking about?

If you are in Quebec........the French right?
Also, you cannot compare Canada to the US, you were never a superpower.
