$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('worrier', 'O')n a serious note, to those that say they can respond to a situation with a gun almost instantly do they have children living with them? Do they ever have visiters staying with children? If their gun is quickly retrievable (as in not in a gun safe) and doesn't have a trigger lock on it they could end up with a dead kid.
As Eli noted a couple of pages back, there are small gun vaults specifically designed to hold a loaded handgun on the nightstand, which can be opened in a matter of seconds by deftly entering the proper code. Children do not possess the finger dexterity, nor do they know the code. The keys in the lock in the photo are a back-up means of entry in case the batteries fail. Of course, the keys are normally safely locked away elsewhere and the batteries are kept charged.
Households with children and households with firearms are not mutually exclusive. Nor, IMO, should they be.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Eli', 'A')nd Shannymarra here is what I have:
Vault Securing weapons is a must as far as I am concerned.
