Well, that's just my opinion.
I think they shred it finer, and it doesn't stick together like spam, it spreads out and isn't a block, and it's more juicy and flavorful, they add yummy seasoning in the brine.

Ok, what do you mean when you say corned beef?

totally confused??

I'm thinking of the stuff from Agentina that Lotrfan is talking about.

There's an urban myth about the canning process being so quick from cow to can that people can fall into the grinder and be canned before the stop button is pressed.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mercurygirl', 'I') heard you would be washing down ramen noodles with the bourbon!

PS I hope you're occasionally having some fruit and vegetables, as well.

We've tried nothin' and we're all out of ideas.

Oh man, this is grim. I think I'll get a job in the canning factory and fall in. Then you can all have a bit of canned PMS. I'll try and make sure that it's Springfield corned beef hash so you'll know what to get to partake in me.

So my guess is that originally this whole corned beef deal was a method of preserving meat. It likely was way more salty and not as good. Maybe in the future corned beef won't be like it is today...

Peakoil.com a frank discussion about corned beef and it's place in our energy depleted future. :)

I like it in thicker whole slices, not chopped up like the photo above.

I love how corned beef just kinda falls apart in your mouth... into pea sized granules where the fat separates the muscle tissue. It's like there is a party in my mouth and everyone is invited.

I agree, real corned beef is great, with potatoes, cabbage, and carrots and lots of butter. That picture makes me want to go get some right now.

PMS, I order you to stop eating canned crap. You're in Cali, go outside and get a bag of oranges and avocadoes.

I think it's brisket ,it's good with a spicy dry rub and then smoked for a half a day or so, corned is like pstarr says , boiled in pickling spices , I like it sliced thin , you can reuben it too . I'm a fan of all the salted and/or cured meats, proscuitto and provolone stuffed into them round hot peppers , mmmmmm , I used to make my own.I'm fixen to make a corned beef reuben as soon as the daughter gets out of the damn kitchen!!!!

Yo, PMS who is that in you avatar... Harrison Ford? Anyway, here something to tide you over... corned beef

You have to have cabbage with the corned beef. Ya know... I think maybe corned beef hash came from Ireland where they had corned beef for dinner and then chopped it up with potatoes and fried it for breakfast. I know you Irish are all for fatty ass breakfasts so is that true? Someone tell me.

thank you for straightening up all the confusion here. That is a bona fide corned beef. Nor cornucopians, no pots, no chippies, not nothing but a happy flank boiled to perfection.

Brisket, not flank, and yes - corned beef hash is the leftovers of corned beef dinner chopped up for for breakfast with eggs the next day (corned beef, potatoes, carrots, bit of cream to bind). The cat food in the can doesn't come close, but if you carmelize it well, it's edible.
