$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('clueless', 'I') look at this "change" coming in our socitey ar just that - Change. Nobody truly knows how this is going to shake out. I am actually pretty curious to see how society is going to react.
It will give us something to talk about besides the latest sports news...Does anybody else think it is utterly ludicrous to pay people tens of millions of dollars becasue they can catch or put s ball in the hole ???
I cannot wait to see how this is going to pan out for them.
In relative dollar terms I agree the salaries of not only sports people but many business people are just way out of line. When the people building your wealth can barely scrape by to buy food and put gas in the car. When these same people (40million and counting) are just one medical incident from becoming wholly destitute.
What a sad system things have evolved to. The CIA world fact book says that just about all the wealth created in the USA since 1975 has gone to the top 20% so much for the old rising tide lifting all boats analogy and "trickle down".
I also find it galling that the smiling face of a sports celebrity gets for example 60 million per year. While the guy sewing the shoes gets less than 1c per shoe made. The guy producing creating the tangible product does not even get to have a half decent life.
If this is what the capitalism end game is yet again going to gravitate to then once again people will have to rise up and demand justice in the form of more adequate compensation for workers.
If the smiling celebrity head goes on strike you can still buy your shoes, clothing or electronics. If the workers go on strike you will quickly see where the real value comes from.
NOTE: The marketing industry should be banned. To my mind it's just a tool for large companies to stifle competition.
