$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Roy', 'I') don't beleive I'm depressed, although my cornucopian uniformed friends/family think I am because I don't see America's future as a bright happy place completely covered by subdivisions, shopping malls, convenience stores and golf courses where everyone can enjoy an idyllic retirement.
I remember four years ago visting a relative in the Phoenix AZ area, and she took us on a visit to a new development bordering a golf course. It looked nice enough, lush green, but totally artificial relative to the terrain around it. I asked one of the salespeople, who was in her early 30's I suppose, how she saw the future water availablity in the Phoenix area going twenty or thrity years ddown the road. (because she was relting how the home was a great long term investment.) She had no answer, and told me I was the only person that had ever asked that kind of question. I told her it was something she should be thinking about for her own future, as she had so many years ahed of her to consider for the future of the properties she owned or sold.
I can't figure how one could live anywhere in the Southwestern U.S. and not think about the future of water supplies. But, I also thought that if I lived in New Orleans, below the river level, I'd plan my own evacuation plan and trigger for it in the event of a hurricane. Looks like I would have been an oddball there too.
