$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('JPL', 'H')i MQ,
OK I've read the book (as per my email, here is my reply to it).
Follow-up after a few beers and engage rant-mode [WARNING - RANT-MODE]
Just spent an evening with my parents who are visiting in their RV. When they arrived I lent them a copy of End of Surburbia (1 week ago) - they have failed to watch it. That's OK I said , so I gave them a blow-by blow of what the core issues are. Then I quoted (& waved around) bits of MQ's book and still met a brick wall.
I have had this same response from several other quarters recently, and the fact that people seem to be incapable of watching a simple documentary is really strange. I'm not excatly pushing it down people's throats, I'm just saying 'watch this', and yet they don't.
What is this syndrome? My wife & I currently spend half our time arguing about the positioning of our (soon to arrive) solar pannels and the rest of it bums-up in the veg plot. When people ask us us, we both say, oh, don't you know, we're just growing food, and if you want to know why, watch this documentary...
Anyhow, to get back to the original subject of the thread. I guess we either act, or we don't (or we're not capable). MQ - I am happy you sent me your book. Also more peak oil aware (in a funny way - but that would take too long to explain here)
I am now a slightly more tortured individual as a result - but I also know more. Knowledge is power, therefore I advance.
Aum Shiva.
