I was surprised to learn that wealthy immigrant Jews built Hollywood because they were not allowed into banking when they arrived in America. There is no denying the massive effect Hollywood culture has on America but in a sense they do provide what people want to buy. Not saying they had a particular agenda or myth to uphold but so much culture was manufactured from thin air. It is an enlightening look at where so many of our role models come from, much has been written about this and there is also a documentary out there called Hollywoodism, no antisemitism - just the interesting facts if your a movie buff - it's well worth watching.

That's why I installed a security system in the house. The neighborhood we live in has a lot of "random walkers", and any kind of a deterrent keeps them away.

It is interesting that the more complicated the structure is the less chance the random walker has to get in.

I think this tells us to make the entrances and exits from our houses more complex. Walls and turns are a good thing.
Deep in the mud and slime of things, even there, something sings.

Zombies Everywhere!

Unread postby Pops » Fri 15 Oct 2010, 18:03:00

Some talk around here about Zombies lately, so what flavor do you fear the most?

Probably most common is the ex-suburban MORTgator Zombie
(Interestingly "mort" has 2 definitions; Killing and Numerous)
This creature existed underwater after feeding for some period on ARMs. Now undead and hungry after the credit pool dried up, he/she might play on your sympathy posing as your cousin Darrel or old school buddy Shep in an attempt to infest your couch and burrow into your wallet before feasting on your brains.

A new strain of Zombie is the MFZB (Mutual Fund Zombie Banker)
This Zombie is part of the Mother Zombie that consumes nest-eggs. Highly functioning and coercive while still attached to the hive and feeding on your savings, you may not understand the danger until your egg is broke and you yourself are zombiefied!
(the MFZB is on the far right behind the guy in the hat)

What kind of zombie skeers you?

The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

iPhone, iPad, iEverything, twittering, facebooking zombies scare me. Or maybe I'm just old fashioned, or maybe I don't have 40 friends who care about what I ate for lunch.

Stealth zombies are the worrysome ones; sneaking up and whispering platitudes so constantly we often are beguiled into thinking they are part of our own mind! "It's all ok, someone will fix it, just keep walking this way.... Everybody thought it was ok, so of course it will be again one day; sign that new SUV loan, you know you wanna....There will always be another, better, job....More, more more more More MORE!"

Here in Darwin, the fastest growing Capital city (pop:128,000) unemployent is well under 5%.
It's heads down bums up work your backside off, change jobs or even careers on a dime.
I'm heading back to Asia for a few months next week. Starting 3 businesses simultaneously there with AUD$ earned nursing. Truck drivers are on $32 to $55 an hour on the mines and they can't get enough of them.
The great tearing sound in the distance is the USD$ tearing violently away from it's throne.
In the long run we will be screwed down here too.

CDC- Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness

Some of the supplies for your emergency kit.
So what do you need to do before zombies…or hurricanes or pandemics for example, actually happen? First of all, you should have an emergency kit in your house. This includes things like water, food, and other supplies to get you through the first couple of days before you can locate a zombie-free refugee camp (or in the event of a natural disaster, it will buy you some time until you are able to make your way to an evacuation shelter or utility lines are restored). Below are a few items you should include in your kit, for a full list visit the CDC Emergency page.

Government workers being taught the ways of the zombie.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'Y')es, you’ll get in shape (or hurt yourself very badly in the process) as you learn “how to dance like a zombie, dress like a zombie and do the Thriller dance” a la Michael Jackson, says an e-mail we received the other day.

...

The e-mail notes that “surprisingly, this is not considered ‘work,’ therefore you will need to either take annual leave or schedule your time accordingly.”

‘Canada will never be a safe haven for zombies,’ Foreign Minister John Baird tells House of Commons$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')oreign Affairs Minister John Baird told the House of Commons Wednesday that “Canada will never be a safe haven for zombies.”

“I want to assure this member and all Canadians that I am dead-icated to ensuring that this never happens,” Baird said.
...
“I don’t need to tell you, Mr. Speaker, that zombies don’t don’t recognize borders and that a zombie invasion in the United States can easily turn into a continent-wide pandemic if it is not contained,” Martin said
...
“So on behalf of concerned Canadians everywhere, I want to ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs, is he working with his American counterparts to develop an international zombie strategy so that a zombie invasion does not turn into a zombie apocalypse?”
Facebook knows you're a dog.
