$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 't')eachers would have to work their butts off just like everyone else in the private sector.
Obviously, you have never been a teacher. The work is way more difficult than sitting in a cubicle, engaging nothing but a computer screen and a slew of bosses. As a teacher you actually have to think about every student in the room and engage them.
Also, teachers are extremely cheap labor in the public sector. An entry level teacher gets paid about $30,000 per year to teach 5 classes per day. How much are you willing to pay to have someone to take control of your kid for 7 hours AND teach them useful knowledge all day? $8.50 per hour would be fair for teaching right? After all, I pay my personal trainer $50 per hour just to train 2 people at the same time. Using those numbers it would cost $14,280 per kid per year. if you have a class of 20 that's $285,600 per year. $30,000 per year is a BARGAIN that means each hour of training is just $0.83 per hour if your kid has a class of 20, $0.59 for a class of 30. If anything we are underpaying our teachers. Have you ever tried to take control of 20 kids and teach them stuff at the same time? Not to mention they have to put up with little no no budget for teaching materials, and parents who whine and cry at how poorly they think the teacher is doing.
