$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Antimatter', 'S')o how many of you guys can honestly say you weren't ignorent retarded stupid consuming etc sheeple before you stumbled accross those neat little graphs on dieoff.org?

I was just as you described in Jan. 2004. I was searching for advice the usenet newsgroups on purchasing A NEW MINIVAN when I ran into a post about peak oil. My life took a serious turn in the next couple weeks and needless to say I didn't buy the minivan.
Most people would have been pissed at the messenger, telling him to loosen up his tinfoil hat or something. I was pissed at the rest of the world that allowed me to remain ignorant about this very important issue until it was almost too late.
I do not blame the masses for being ignorant about peak oil. Countless billions are being spent telling them about all the useless crap they should buy. Almost no money or effort is spent trying to tell them what's really going on, because where's the business model in doing that?
I do blame those who I calmly, rationally advise to become informed about peak oil who regurgitate the mainstream line about oil company conspiracies and refinery bottlenecks because of those god damn evironmentalists, and absolutely refuse to learn anything.
