$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('buzzard', 'T')he Constitution assures us that we can travel from one place to another without being impeded in our journey. We can use the transport of the day without asking for permission or license. Test it. (Oh, that's right. You did.)

You can travel in almost complete anonymity if you wish, via car or motorcycle, paying cash for gas at stations along the way.

I flew somewhere about a year or so ago; and was "selected" for special security. I knew something was up since I couldn't get a preprinted boarding pass, so I went in pajamas, and took nothing. Thus, I will never, ever, fly again. There is no destination on the planet, or cause for travel that will ever convince me that they are worth enduring such scrutiny. I will drive, bike, or sail to whatever destination requires my presence, but I will not fly.

You can say "no" to air travel too.
Yes, we are. As we are.
And so shall we remain; Until the end.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jupiters_release', '
')Systemic harassment, both selective and arbitrary, is not incompetence. :-D

It seems like all of the above to me. A lot of people in enforcement think the neocons are jerks and won't necessarily do their express bidding, though.

Hey Jupiters, missed your post somehow.

Yes, I was finally told last week by an agent in NY that I'm off the list. Of course, I have to take their word for it. 8O

You all may remember they claimed I was on the list because a gun registered to me was recovered in a New York crime scene. When I talked to him, he could not say what the crime was, when it occurred, or what the gun was. But, he assures me I'm off the list now. I'm not holding my breath.

What does that mean "registered"? Does that mean your name was on a form 4473? Is there actual gun registration in Missouri?

Besides the maddening incompetence of them putting you on the list in the first place, the absolutely astonishing thing is that you were on the list for a year and a half without knowing about it. You're a lawyer for god's sake. It would take about 45 seconds on google to find your office telephone number. They think you're armed and dangerous, but nobody can bother spending 15 minutes to track you down?

I guess that's pretty much how it was at Waco too though. Koresh invited ATF out to have a look at the place and discuss their concerns. They weren't interested unless they could dress up and play ninja.
"We were standing on the edges

Sifting through the ashes every day
What we thought would never end
Now is nothing more than a memory
The way things were before
I lost my way" - OCMS

Its even more incompetent than that SPG, I did see the initial screen which had my correct name, address, and phone number on it. Despite that fact, and despite the fact they had me listed as being such a threat, no one ever called? They are either completely incompetent or, they weren't worried I had a nuke. So, why would they possibly worry about me?

Don't know if this is related

"Security Encounters" Escalate

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'E')ncounters inside the country vary but typically are traffic stops or other routine interactions with local police, or they come about when travelers find themselves on the "no-fly" or "selectee" lists - subsets of the terrorist watch list administered by the airlines and the Transportation Security Administration.

In many instances, "nothing is going to happen to the person" as a result of an encounter inside the country, Mr. Boyle said. "In fact, the person may not even know that he is on the watch list or that anyone is paying him special attention as a result of the encounter."

Now you need an alias, plastic surgery and you have to burn off your fingerprints, ouch.

On a more serious note, what pisses me off is the disregard for family and CHILDREN by the authorities in instances like this.

I want everyone to know my personal belief is "I'm on the list" for postings I have made over the years on this forum and probably LATOC. Why do I think that? Some of you may know that in the past I have offered to email people a free copy of a manual I wrote while a recon platoon leader. Its stored at work, so anyone that wanted it just had to email me at work for a free copy. I made that offer here and on LATOC.

Back in November 07, I was contacted by a poster on LATOC that wanted a copy of the manual. He sent me an email to my work address. We exhanged a few emails, and I learned that he was ex-military and had worked over the last 10 years as a war correspondent in Bosnia and later Iraq. He also said that now he moved into "intel", working in North America (Mexico) and asked that I not disclose his true identity, bc he feared TPTB a lot! He would not tell me what intel he was working on these days, but obviously he's working as some type of private contractor and perusing the nets like LATOC. We exchanged two or three emails, which I saved, and after he received a copy of the manual, I never heard from him again despite an email to him that went unanswered.

I later learn that in March of 07, I am listed as "armed and dangerous" a "category 1 suspect." I believe the two incidents are related, as no one, absolutely no one, not even the ATF agent in NY, was able to tell me why I was listed as "armed and dangerous." Now, they say, and I have to accept, that I'm not listed as such, but we all know that once you are in a computer data base, you are always there.

Anyone with a brain and a gun is on their list. We will soon see just how patriotic the ATF and other agencies are when all the cities are burning at once. Do they protect their families or the elite? What about when instead of 15 to 1 in their favor, they try and collect guns and it is one to one or one to hundred. It's going to get bad very fast.

Given that there are probably lots of word-search programs that check blogs, emails, etc., this site is probably on at least one list.
It might be amusing to know exactly how many lists there are; then, we could while away our free hours guessing the name of each list and what kind of people would be on it.
AND, come up with a physical description of the person who started each list.

Seahorse, are you an "activist" ?

Activists are Terrorists according to State Police

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he Maryland State Police classified 53 nonviolent activists as terrorists and entered their names and personal information into state and federal databases that track terrorism suspects, the state police chief acknowledged yesterday.

Police Superintendent Terrence B. Sheridan revealed at a legislative hearing that the surveillance operation, which targeted opponents of the death penalty and the Iraq war, was far more extensive than was known when its existence was disclosed in July.

If believing in a Constitutional democracy makes me an activist, then I am an activist.

For those who are interested, here is a portion of the email sent to me last November 07 by the guy that admittedly was working "intel" for an undisclosed source.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')ut please keep my identity close hold on the forums. I'm a little paranoid anymore . . . despite being a dyed in the wool conservative for the most part. I had an encounter with some gov types who acted like real asses and its made me a bit gun shy. No, not a bit, a lot. Stupid and in positions of power and frankly, it has me really worried
