Biden: “I would transition away from the oil industry”
In the final presidential debate, Joe Biden pledges to gradually transition the country from oil to renewable energy on a path to net-zero emissions by 2050. (Associated Press)
Democrat Joe Biden’s remark that he would “transition” away from oil in the U.S. in favor of renewable energy drew quick attention Thursday night from President Donald Trump, who saw it as a boon to his election chances in key states.
“I would transition away from the oil industry, yes,” Biden said in the presidential debate’s closing minutes under peppering from Trump. “The oil industry pollutes, significantly. … It has to be replaced by renewable energy over time.”
The Biden campaign’s climate plan calls for the U.S. to have net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. And he repeated his pledge to end federal subsidies for the oil and gas industry. However, Biden’s plan does not call for a ban on climate-damaging fossil fuels, focusing instead on technologies that can capture pollution from oil and other sources.
Still, Trump seemed surprised and pleased by Biden’s comment, declaring it a “big statement,” and suggesting it would come with political blowback in oil-producing states that stand to lose jobs.
“Basically what he is saying is he is going to destroy the oil industry,” Trump said. “Will you remember that, Texas? Will you remember that, Pennsylvania? Oklahoma? Ohio?”

One day my fish tank heater broke during winter (right around the time the CIA injected the biovirus into Wuhan via aerosol spray at the 50,000 people buffet banquet) so after work I dropped by Petco to get a replacement heater. I didn’t have to look it up on Google maps because Petco was right next to our local Kroger which I visit all the time. Usually I would buy it on amazon but decided to get it locally since I didn’t want to wait the extra two day shipping.. It was the first time in years I visited Petco… later that evening I’m watching YouTube on my desktop computer and usually I have Adblock Plus to block ads but that evening I had just re-imaged and reinstalled my computer from scratch and didn’t have time to add the ad block extensions yet. I was using Firefox browser (not Google Chrome!) and I saw an YouTube ad of Petco… My phone at the time was a Huawei P30 and I didn’t have a Google account in the first place so I couldn’t have logged into any Google account on my phone. And I also obviously wasn’t logged into any Google account on my firefox web browser on my desktop computer. My phone was using data only (unlimited data plan and I live right next to a cell tower) and not using my home residential wifi connection…so there were no comingling of data nor networks or shared IP blocks…
So its baffling how my visit to Petco (which I had my phone on me) ended up with hours later me seeing repeatedly ads for Petco on YouTube when browsing unrelated YouTube videos on a desktop computer… all while not even having a Google account and having turned off the personalized ads in my Android based Huawei phone! And the phone was on its own data and not sharing the same wifi connection/residential internet connection!
Without an Google account and since my phone didn’t share the same internet connection as my desktop computer, how did it even make the association or connection in the first place? I get it if later on that day at home my phone showed me an ad of Petco, but how would I get an ad about Petco when watching youtube videos about some other topic on my firefox browser on a desktop PC that was not connected to my phone via any accounts nor network connection at all? My desktop PC is directly connected to my ISP router via RJ-45, and doesn’t have wifi capabilities at all… So there is no way for it to share geolocation… unless Google somehow already associated my residential public IP address with me and since I spend most of the time why my phone at home with geolocation on, it also knows my phone “resides” at the same physical address… so it makes the association that my phone was at petco, and it already tied my phone to the same residential address as my residential public IP address so when it sees a youtube session come from that Ip address it sends it a Petco ad since it knew hours earlier a phone associated at the same house was at Petco? This is the only theory that makes sense but if this is the case its just beyond creepy…

The AFP reported that the priest was shot at a Greek Orthodox church in Lyon. He was shot with a sawed-off shotgun, according to reports, which means the attack was likely a gruesome scene.
