I like this question.

Language can be used to help or hinder as we're trying to educate the public.

Some of the terms definitely sound deragatory.

I like the following ones best, but I am still wondering if there is a better one out there, or if we should reject all labels, since we are ordinary folks who are just paying attention.

1. realist
2. awake
3. peak oil aware / awake
4. peakist -- not really a favorite, but better than "peaknik"

"Are there many people that share this concern about peak oil?"

"Yes, many of them. Many books, videos, websites, articles, and many people out there are well aware of what is going on."

"What are these people called?"

"Called? People. People who have been paying attetion. People who recognize that there are indeed limits in this finite world."
