Late Starter: You have obviously not read most of my posts. Still, you think you "know" me enough to judge my character. I've always been polite with those that were polite with me. I don't like to talk about myself, but I'll say this much: I'm a very pleasant-mannered person. I even invited both Specop and Nwildman to come over to Lebanon, and they didn't deserve it--but I was trying to be nice to see if we could discuss in a more respectful manner.

If you were living in the ME, you would understand why we hate the American government so much. You can ask any American that has lived in the ME, and they'll tell you how they understand my position.

I do criticize many aspects of American society, but I also criticize Peruvian and Lebanese societies (not in this forum 'cause I doubt anyone would be interested). I've clarified many times that I don't hate Americans. I have a better opinion of American people than some of the American posters in this forum. At least I believe that most Americans are compassionate enough to oppose the killing of innocent civilians in an unnecessary war.

Qwerty/PMS: I agree with Late Starter. In Spanish we say "los ojos son el espejo del alma" (the eyes are the mirror of the soul). It is not so much the eyes as the "mirada". I don't know the right translation for that word. It could be "glance/look". It is the way a person looks at others.

BTW, Middle Eastern people have gorgeous eyes. Most Arabic love songs praise the eyes of the lover. Remember Shakira's "eyes like yours"? She wrote that song for her Syrian bf (the son of Argentinian president Carlos Menem), who probably had beautiful Arabic eyes.
