Or the economy for that matter.

Look, Obama is owned just as McCain would have been owned, once he took presidential office. I'm sure that someone quietly explained to Mr. Obama just how easy it would be for the secret service to make a "mistake" and not stop a bullet, and that he was going to sit down, shut up, do what the finance guys told him to do. If he goes along, he and his family survive and get a nice little payout. If he doesn't... he winds up like these guys:

You may have noticed a little pattern here.

The guys who run Goldman Sachs, et. al. are not nice, and they don't play fair when someone gets in the way - even presidents.

After US sniper hit somebody real hard being 2 700 meters away a threat like that would be possible for a lot of individuals , groups and organizations. So why would one threat work over the others?
This is a typical myth about "good king, bad nobles", popular in many countries, btw. There is no good or bad up there. All they care is conservation ,and perhaps expanding their influence. Nothing else matters.

Home price drops exceed Great Depression: Zillow
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')ome prices fell for the 53rd consecutive month in November, taking the decline past that of the Great Depression for the first time in the prolonged housing slump, according to Zillow.
Home prices have fallen 26 percent since their peak in 2006, exceeding the 25.9 percent drop registered in the five years between 1928 and 1933, the housing data company said in a report on Monday.
...
Declines are accelerating, and it will take a while before falling unemployment and other signs of economic improvement support the market, Zillow said.
