Looking at the graph of gov't expenditures, it sure looks like something is rotton. We taxpayers are paying private interests (the FED and banks) the lions share of what we produce. Second on the list is medicare/medicade. Again, taxpayers paying through the nose while a segment of the private sector gets insanely rich.

TPTB started their hit against Huckabee today. Any other second tier candidate that is an actual agent of change can expect the same (Paul/Gravel/Kucinech)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Pops', 'I')’ll just put it out here:

I agree with Tyler; goofy stuff like this wallowing in how The Man (however you choose to name or describe him) is behind all our woes and bent on some Orwellian world pretty well puts PO.com and our main topic in the category of the many other fruitcake sites whose main goal is the same as a soap opera with a new shock every 7.75 seconds.

Crap, why not look up one of those sites out there where you folks can talk about stuff like this - or is PO.com now Armageddon Central?

Or is it simply that you do not have the belly to quit your keyboard and prepare for PO and so the best you can do is to lay the blame on some hidden conspiracy?

Cripes, it seems this site is becoming more irrelevant each day with every new sidebar about all the various ways the world is about to end and how there is nothing we can do because someone else has all the power.

Jeez!!!
:-x :-x :-x

Pops tells it like it is.

The NWO Conspiracy stuff is a cop out. It lets you believe that you are powerless so you don't have to do anything. Quit the whining, sell your car, move into the city, ride a bus, move on with your life.

Oh yes it's planned.

I like many others here thought the market would crash in August. But by gosh they managed to keep it from turning into a bust which is an important milestone. The central banks were really patting themselves on the back a few months ago for that feat. Anyhow, what's happening now is a slow bust. And a slow bust is what the international bankers have always wanted. The problem has been pulling it off. Once trust is broken in the system is when a bust happens and this time around they've been able to maintain people's trust in the system. This has been done by manipulation through the media, government reports, regulatory reporting, outright manipulation of the market and beyond. It is a feat what they have accomplished. But it is fragile and requires a lot of work to keep things a slow bust.

Why is a slow bust preferable? because trust is maintained in the system - there's no grand moment that puts the spotlight on the fed and the banks and calls the government to action. Instead you have TSHTF in phases for select individuals mostly in the middle to lower classes which can be ignored. This effect over time causes society to slowly tear itself apart. Add to that asset seizure, mass burnout, a more competative lean and mean workforce and mass unemployment. The corporations win the general public becomes weaker/easier to control and the populace is ripe for a draft.

The next step is war/consolidation of resources in North America. And to consolidate resources you have to control the infrastructure of trade. So is it any guess where an attack might be? *cough* I mean we've heard about the NAFTA highway and all but think about the ramifications of that. A super port would be needed to feed this sucker. How could we get the US to accept a super port system and stop trading off all its ports? *cough* I mean one might want to do a little research on who's invested in maritime security. *cough*

So anyway, at what point the slow bust might turn into a fast one is not hard to fathom.

Here are the "Elements of a Strategy for a Non-catastrophic Transition":

1 Promote awareness of the unavoidability of the transformation.

2 Foster construction of a guiding vision of a workable society built around the new image of man and new social paradigm.

3 Foster a period of experimentation and tolerance for diverse alternatives.

4 Encourage a politics of righteousness and a heightened sense of public responsibilities of the private sector . . . A politics of righteousness might have been laudable in any generation; it may be indispensable for safe passage through the times just ahead.

5 Promote systematic exploration of and foster education regarding man's inner life, his subjective experience.

6 Plan adequate social controls for the transition period while safeguarding against longer-term losses of freedom . . . Regulation and restraint of behavior will be necessary in order to hold the society together while it goes around a difficult corner.

=================================

Number 1 seems well on the way with the BLATANT fear mongering about “global warming”. Toss in energy depletion, when the time is right, and it’s a slam dunk with the proles. Please save us from ourselves AL Gore you globalist pig!!

Number 2 is the “North American Union” for us hopeless saps. I would expect, again when the “timing” is deemed right”, the NAU will be hammered down our throats as the new and absolutely essential social paradigm to save us from ourselves. Lube me up and slide it in!!

Number 4 is tricky. When I watch the news I always ask myself what social atmosphere they are attempting to produce. IMO the never ending barrage of political and corporate scandals, which have always been going on, has reached an almost unbearable crescendo. The never ending coverage seems to promote an atmosphere of despair and hopelessness in the average man for how the current system operates. It’s this tilde wave of despair and hopelessness of our corrupt private sector and politicians that will wash over the people of this country and have them begging for a new social paradigm that will be ushered in by some modern day despot that gains control of the reins and campaigns on the platform of “a politics of righteousness and a heightened sense of public responsibilities of the private sector.” It may be indispensable for safe passage through the times just ahead. I’ll vote for that!!

Number 5 sounds like "The Secret" that everybody with “millions of viewers” has been trying to shove down our fucking throat as of late. Thank you for assistance softening up the proles Oprah!!

Number 6 is a self-explanatory SLAM DUNK ridding on the coattails of 9/11 and the fear of the Arab boogieman!! Between seemingly imminent destruction from freedom hating towel-heads and self induced destruction of our biosphere I’ll surrender everything for “a period of experimentation and tolerance for diverse alternatives” no matter how draconian they will be. As long as Disney Land is still there for my Johnny and Sally!!!

I marvel at the genius of it all!!

“In a way, the world-view of the party imposed itself most successfully on the people incapable of understanding it. They could be made to accept the most flagrant violations of reality, because they never fully grasped the enormity of what was demanded of them, and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening. By lack of understanding, they remained sane. They simply swallowed everything, and what they swallowed did them no harm, because it left no residue behind, just like a grain of corn will pass undigested through the body of a bird."

Tyler said: “As for the Bilderberg group NWO stuff, I just don't buy it. I've read enough of the literature to understand that most of it is fantasy. There are simply too many moving parts for any single group to control the global economy. I have also yet to see any legitimate proof that TPTB even exist or have interests that are so aligned with one another that they can work together to accomplish all kind of nefarious activities.”

I just don’t know what kind of proof you people are expecting, or what kind of proof must actually slap you upside the head, to understand just how far along the road we have already been led.

Since you haven't been been paying attention to the 'fantasy', here are the words of a few who surely knew better than you or I, the inside goings on and machinations of leadership:

"The interests behind the Bush Administration, such as the CFR, The Trilateral Commission - founded by Brzezinski for David Rockefeller - and the Bilderberger Group, have prepared for and are now moving to implement open world dictatorship within the next five years. They are not fighting against terrorists. They are fighting against citizens." -- Dr. Johannes B. Koeppl, Ph.D., former German defense ministry official and advisor to former NATO Secretary General Manfred Woerner

"For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. It conducts the Cold War, in short, with a war-time discipline no democracy would ever hope or wish to match." President John F. Kennedy Waldorf-Astoria Hotel New York City, April 27, 1961.

"Military men are dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns for foreign policy." Henry Kissinger, quoted by Bob Woodward in The Final Days, 1976 “The illegal we do immediately. The unconstitutional takes a little longer. "[The New World Order] cannot happen without U.S. participation, as we are the most significant single component. Yes, there will be a New World Order, and it will force the United States to change it's perceptions." -- Henry Kissenger, World Affairs Council Press Conference, Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel , April 19th 1994

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on." --- George W. Bush ...
“In the counsels of Government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together." President Dwight Eisenhower, Feb 1961
And lastly, on the subject of an ‘alert and knowledgable citizenry’ (must be thinking of a different country…)

I wouldn't call it fascism exactly, but a political system nominally controlled by an irresponsible, dumbed down electorate who are manipulated by dishonest, cynical, controlled mass media that dispense the propaganda of a corrupt political establishment can hardly be described as democracy either: Edward Zehr

Yes no PTB, move on...

"Political parties exist to secure responsible government and to execute the will of the people. From these great staffs, both of the old parties have ganged aside. Instead of instruments to promote the general welfare they have become the tools of corrupt interests which use them in martialling [sic] to serve their selfish purposes. Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.

~Theodore Roosevelt

"Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it."

WOODROW WILSON The New Freedom

"[T]he powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country, and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion, by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements, arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences.
The apex of the system was the Bank for International Settlements in Basle, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks, which were themselves, private corporations. The growth of financial capitalism made possible a centralization of world economic control, and use of this power for the direct benefit of financiers and the indirect injury of all other economic groups."

Well the overt attempt to install the NWO was taken down by Smedley Butler in what is now called the Business Plot:

"The Business Plot, the Plot Against FDR, or the White House Putsch, was a purported conspiracy involving several wealthy businessmen to overthrow the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933.

Details of the matter came to light when retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler testified before a Congressional committee that a group of men had attempted to recruit him to serve as the leader of a plot and to assume and wield power once the coup was successful. Butler testified before the McCormack-Dickstein Committee in 1934 [1]. In his testimony, Butler claimed that a group of several men had approached him as part of a plot to overthrow Roosevelt in a military coup. One of the alleged plotters, Gerald MacGuire, vehemently denied any such plot. In their final report, the Congressional committee supported Butler's allegations on the existence of the plot,[2] but no prosecutions or further investigations followed, and the matter was mostly forgotten.

General Butler claimed that the American Liberty League was the primary means of funding the plot. The main backers were the Du Pont family, as well as leaders of U.S. Steel, General Motors, Standard Oil, Chase National Bank, and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. A BBC documentary claims Prescott Bush, father and grandfather to the 41st and 43rd US Presidents respectively, was also connected.[3]"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Plot

Ever since then they have been covertly achieving the results they desired.

The rapture sure sounds like it would be more fun.

Oh really? You mean Peak Oil is a predictable certainty? I never knew physicists were studying the theory.... Bound to happen? Plenty of lab experiments to back up the theory? or just computer models? ANY computer models? Or just one man's mathematical prediction?

Socio-political manipulation is not airtight either. It's not a question of whether you believe you have been a pawn to the plans, simply that you are convinced you have not. Quite predictable.

Why is it that so many Ameircans have a paranoia? This belief that so many of the powers that be are scheming to plunder the nation? I think that its the easy way out.

If people take a strong interest in their government and put strong order into their own lives, and practice restraint so they are not burdened by debt, one can develop strength and calmness, not fear. I know, its not there right now. Too may people would rather dwell on the multi-million lottery payout, despite the thin odds, than think about politics for instance. Or their personal bank account and savings plans. Its easier to blame the "dark forces" for ones state, not to be disciplined, not to organize things with ones fellow workers.

It seems like so many people have developed an "us/them" mentality. Two or three generations ago, it seems workers empowered themselves, through skill development, strong unions and the co-op movement in farming and fishing areas to gain strength. But, today in so many workplaces I visit in my work, it seems like the mentality is weak. You wouldn't believe how much effort goes into developing work place instructions and signs and tools to "mistake proof" things, as the average worker apparently no longer thinks about their task at hand. Nor can that average worker be trusted to recognize changes in raw materials, we have to employ technicians to check things that should be apparent to the worker. We keep on slugs who should have been fired long ago if anybody cared about quality and productivity. Craftsmanship seems like history.

Just what has happened to the Walter Reuther like people today? The kind of guys who could not only handle a micrometer but organize and fight for better conditions and rights? Maybe they are all in management these days.
