$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he problem with bumper stickers is that a joe public might get angry either from realising you are right or because he is annoyed that you have the courage to put stickers like that on your car that he doesn't agree with (especially the one about the troops).
Yes. I think a lot of bumper stickers are traffic hazards -- either because they exacerbate road rage, or just because they're distracting. I've noticed that myself when driving -- you're curious about what the sticker says, so you look longer than you otherwise would at that car, which distracts you from monitoring traffic flow. Before you know it, you've almost rear-ended someone.
I've also noticed how much more angry I am when the car that just cut in front of me, or did some other ordinary stupid thing on the road, happens to be a car with a bumper sticker I can't stand. So I feel, why provoke that in other drivers? What's the point? If we want to express our political and lifestyle opinions, why do it while hurtling past each other in several tons of metal at 70 mph? The roads are full of crazy, angry drunk people with poor vision and rotten driving skills.
I should add that tiny little writing at the bottom of a bumper sticker is just asking for some squinting idiot to rear-end you. A safer option to me seems a "Google Peak Oil" button on your jacket. Whatever happened to buttons? I wouldn't wear a button either, but I'm an uptight conformist.
