I can't really comment on "best album", because I know perfectly well I have less-than-popular tastes. Very little rock. Folk, bluegrass, and within two to three degrees (a la Kevin Bacon) of Bela Fleck. For great lyrics, maybe the late Dave Carter's "Drum Hat Buddha". That last one comes highly recommended for smallpoxgirl.

I'll check it out.

Of a thousand burning bridges
Sifting through the ashes every day
What we thought would never end
Now is nothing more than a memory
The way things were before
I lost my way" - OCMS

Hey I've got a Bluegrass pick. Will The Circle Be Unbroken.

Maybelle Carter, Doc Watson, Earl Scruggs, Norman Blake, Vassar Clements... A towering Bluegrass powerhouse of an album. An American classic that crushes all albums that come before it.
